Not really. NATO doesn't want to annihilate Russia. NATO didn't want to do before the invasion, or during, and they still won't after this is all over.

In fact the U.S., EU and NATO actually have tried to do everything that they could to integrate Russia into the world. NATO/EU still are trying to get Russia back on track with the world.

Normal people know this. The problem is Putin does not. Or at least, his angle to power and wealth is pretending and exploiting to the Russian people the opposite view. Not sure which it is. But one thing is for sure: He thought he had a porn star dong, but what he really has is a 3 incher with a lifetime supply of Viagra (nukes).

You can pretty much thank Angela Merkel for the Ukraine being turned down in 2008. She led the campaign to block it and then France got on board with Germany. While Germany tries to claim that their relationship with Russia was due to morality and guilt about WWII, the real reason is more likely economic self interest. Admittedly Merkel does have a screw loose but for most Germans it was probably about money and complacency.

Following Zelenskyy's recent internet speech to the German Bundestag, there was apparently no discussion about the Ukraine just silence and later some little Bundestag member birthday celebrations. One Bundestag member described the session as one of the most disgusting things he had ever witnessed in the German parliament.

His sanctions are surely not lifted. Could this have just been a probe to see how the world reacts? Had we not been unified, he would have sent the "real" forces and taken Ukraine and then planned his next invasion?

I'd say the U.S. and NATO did a good job of fulfilling their mission. It's just too bad that Ukraine wasn't already a member.

Putin sees a freak show in the cabinet now and he also sees unserious people. That's a fact! Men claiming to be women and cheering it on is a ****ing clown show!! Fact. Having unserious people hired based on how many intersectional boxes they check instead of competence, does not make us stronger. It makes hard cold dictators who give zero shits about their citizens lives believe that we are a country of clowns. When our VP sounds like a 3rd grader trying to give a book report on a book she didn't read, when trying to articulate policy and sound serious, we look like a clown show. When our president is an angry old man who should be screaming at orderlies for his Ensure, we look like a clown show. Fat, dumb, stupid clowns, not willing or able to make hard choices and deal in a world of reality.

Have to assume then that Joe Biden is the voice of sanity in this administration...scary thought. Regarding foreign policy, however, he is probably Antony Blinken's hand puppet which is sort of a comforting thought...or at least I think it is right now.

Nothing quite on the scale of WWII. Hard to say what the casualties really were during the Chinese nationalist-Chinese communist civil war that ended in 1949. Have to assume they were pretty high.

On another note, Biden and NATO had better get in all the equipment promised plus Mig-29s from Poland, Romania, etc. because there will be another big Russian offensive when the weather improves and the ground dries in May.
