I believe a small handful (I hope no more) of cops are getting over protected by their union. These are the one's that give the rest a bad name. Possibly, some cops may come from backgrounds where they are told to go do something (military for example). They do not have to have the personal interaction skills (or care to use them) that require the same interaction they will encounter with the general public. Rather than being able to keep a situation calm or even defuse a situation, they add fuel to it.

I do not understand how it appears that much of the media believes our society can successfully be one of laws meant to protect everyone, while those with the responsibility upholding these laws are looked at as the bad guys. Anyone who is disrespecting the police is where the problem starts. The greater the disrespect or noncompliance the worse the situation. I do believe that there is a measure of responsibility, however, on the police to have the skills to try and make a situation have the least bad outcome.
Yes. It should of course go both ways. I was responding to a “the cops should be accountable” post and said I agree and it go both ways.

Fine people for insulting you? C'mon man, this is a serious and weighty discussion!
The ask by many is that we find a better way to deescalate a situation so that nobody ends up getting shot. I’m all for that. Surely everyone is. If things are going to be deescalate, then we need the perps and the citizens at the scene to not be dicks. If they think they can cus at a cop, then they think they can disobey requests, then they can resist, then they can flee. Gotta deescalate in the initial interaction. I’m not saying that saves everyone, but it puts the cops less on edge, makes some think twice about the interaction, and gives the cops a clear understanding of when they should step up from zero to level one on their interaction. It seems that a lot of police civilian interactions start at level 5. Hopefully if the cops handle the situation at level 1 you have no level 10 incidents.

      • The mob in Kenosha went after another car lot last night. Someone there to protect the lot approaches the men with a long gun. One of the mob ran towards the man with the gun and he was shot in the head and died.

As the shooter was fleeing the scene towards police, he was pursued by several in the mob. They knocked him down and he shot several more times killing another and injuring a third.

Yesterday the governor refused federal troops.

The absolute best way to not escalate a volatile situation is to simply comply with police demands until everything gets figured out. I'm sorry, but it's just that simple. The more defiance, the more people lose their lives on both sides. Unfortunately, right now it is way too explosive to even voice such a simple solution.

This is not well thought out, more akin to a unicorn fairy tale.

Cnn would have a field day reporting on the number of black people cited for yelling at a cop, in one week, in Trump's America!

That might be a little over his head.

Understandable with today's rhetoric we see everywhere. Hell, we got that witch pelosi saying the Republicans are "enemies of the people."

Who hasn't? Structural elements? What's your point? Cops are hunting black people?

In the 30-40 (at least) times I've been pulled over I encountered the same, and I didn't attempt to resist a one of 'em, because I was brought up to know that if you resist something bad could happen due to an officer feeling threatened. You weren't brought up that way?
You've been pulled over 30-40 times? They should lock you up. You've clearly demonstrated a lack of respect for the laws of this country, law enforcement, and public safety.

Most cops killed in the line of duty are killed in car crashes. I back the blue by obeying traffic laws and attentive driving.

Hey, you're loosening up a little! Good to see.

Not one time did I think they were pulling me over because it was personal. And the assholes I encountered with a gun and a badge (of which there was 1 or 2 that I remember) I ignored, because that's how was I raised. Who would put a child in harms way and raise them that the opposite is true? Do you find that an offensive question?

What makes you better than anyone else?

                    • Did anyone see the Pelosi thought Pompeo's speech from Jerusalem was "appaling."

Something or other about -ahem- "the image is 'saying look at us we’re here in Israel making a speech to the Republican National Convention, violating our values in terms of the bipartisanship and our support for Israel, violating in many ways what he told his own employees,” WHA...?

What next, Trump's a spy for russia? Man, some compassionate and wise Snowflake needs to shut this ignorant Succubus's mouth when she's been drinking, but, then again, that'd require 24/7 type supervision actually. Cold, where you at?

                        But, then again, nahhhhh....

The Dems are setting the stage for voter suppression and election fraud. Do not concede, all mail-in voting, no ID's required, etc... Their plan is so crystal clear and they aren't even trying to hide it.

                          • Yesterday's RNC activities

                            1. Legal Immigration Ceremonies
                            https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tru...ony-during-rnc
It's interesting that Democrats criticize legal immigration ceremonies with the President but the Dems are willing to pay Illegal Aliens government welfare.

Is Trump still xenophobic or does he just support Legal Immigration?

                            2. Nick Sandmann's story
Right to Life is his major story. Why is the media so much against him? Why didn't the Democrat Convention mention his story or the Right to LIfe Issue?
Because the Democrats have shut out Catholics and others who believe in the Right to Life issue and CNN for one media outlet has settled his Law Suit.

                            3. Tiffany Trump speech
It's interesting that she just graduated from Georgetown Law School last spring

                            4. Melania Trump's Speech
Criticized by Bette Midler "for having a foreign accent".
Interesting that a legal immigrant who speaks multiple languages (English, Slovenian, and reportedly French and German) is vilified by a liberal California celebrity.
I suppose Bette Midler appreciates only illegal immigrants.

I may have missed some activities so feel free to fill in what I missed and of course what I said that was wrong.

Dems who pride themselves on being the moral compass and accepting of everyone and not racist or having hate for anyone attacking a kid:

CNN political analyst Joe Lockhart attacked former Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann after his network settled a $250 million defamation lawsuit earlier this year.

Just like they did under obama when they conspired to fool and lie to half the population after the election in '16 by claiming Trump was a russian spy, and the sheep believed it, with the aid of the msm, and a certain -ahem- cache of russian pravda supplied by foreign entities, to justify spying. Obama makes nixon look like a choirboy.

When a polluted and deceitful government is allowed to do something like that, we get the very thing we are seeing on the streets today because "hey, who cares if civil liberties were/are violated." It was an ALL-IN (think #resist) scorched earth policy. No? Uncle 'Stinky Fingers' Joe better get his a** out there PDQ and continue the lie, before it's too late!

Good Lord, I can't wait to see Trump and 'Stinky Fingers' face-to-face on the debate stage discussing -ahem- russian collusion. Look for Stinky Fingers to do a dead-eye impersonation of mueller before congress back in the day: Playin' all stupid and feeble, looking for a little sympathy, while cities burn. You can bet your last $$ The Clinton Cabal is gonna face real scorched-earth Karma before their time on Pritvhi is done, and their many miserable lives to follow. The halls of retribution are inscribed by their own hands.
