Doesn’t understand the difference between spending five socially distanced, masked minutes at a polling booth to fulfill one of our most basic rights as an American vs spending 4 hours inside a packed bar.
No need to raise eyebrows because I’m not surprised.
Now I do agree that even Covid positive people should be able to partake in voting.

They should be able to vote but having them stand in line next to others is ludicrous. Plans should have been made in advance so the proper precautions could have been put in place for them to vote without infecting others.Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

It would be nice if people would be reasonable and understanding and allow for alternative voting plans but there is already an effort to dismiss ballots that were postmarked before Election Day but didn’t arrive in time so it seems unlikely.

If you are Covid positive it's clear to anybody living in reality that you do not leave quarantine except to drive to the hospital in an emergency.
The CDC has sadly lost much legitimacy and trust after the Trump Administration took over public messaging several months ago requiring their final approval. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump typed up the memo himself. Sickening. But this madness is likely over in a few more hours.
Had the Administration been even halfway competent, they would have put in emergency absentee voting contingencies for Covid positive citizens months ago. But, the Administration is not even halfway competent.

And before you guys put any effort in attempting to convince some of the hardcore Trumpers in this thread, please realize that they don't even believe Covid is real/dangerous/"a thing".
Meanwhile, reality marches on...
The latest hospital data from Sedgwick County shows there are no ICU beds available for COVID-19 patients in the county.

But outside of all that, this election should have been conducted primarily by remote voting via phone app, website, mail-in-ballot, etc. Face recognition on phone apps, 1-800 w/ loads of security questions, outdoor voting booths... whatever.
Here's common sense guidance for behavior during a pandemic: if somebody asks you to gather around strangers for purposes that can be dealt with in anonymity, politely decline.
The entire world is laughing at us. I mean, they are pissing themselves at our disorganization and utter incompetence.

What’s the end game here? Zero infections? A vaccine that’ll be, at best, as effective at the flu? When deaths reach zero? 500?
It only took 200 years to eradicate smallpox. I just wanna know if we plan on wearing masks and social distancing for the next 200.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

We have the technology to make viruses our ***** in record time, but we can't do it overnight. Why not have the populace act sensible until all the viral defenses are in place?
Or, we could just encourage everybody to ignore the reality and hundreds of thousands will needlessly die.
Oops.

You didn’t answer my question so I’ll just assume zero infections is the goal and plan accordingly.Deuces Valley.

Ummmm, no. Considering we are in a state of emergency, similar to war, emergency voting directives would come from Washington to ensure a fair, accessible, and SAFE election for all. The same unified approach that should have happened from day one in this pandemic with regards to testing, contact tracing, social distancing/quarantine/lockdown guidance.
But outside of all that, this election should have been conducted primarily by remote voting via phone app, website, mail-in-ballot, etc. Face recognition on phone apps, 1-800 w/ loads of security questions, outdoor voting booths... whatever.

Thankfully Covid is quite young, evolving in a relatively benign manner, and apparently still very vulnerable/stable to vaccination. If we hit it really hard and the entire world has access to the vaccine, perhaps we can neuter it like we did MERS/SARS1. If we dilly dally, don't take reasonable precautions, and allow the entire world to get infected............
Oops!
You see, there are many prices to pay with out-of-control infections beyond just the obvious. Each cycle allows the virus an opportunity to mutate and become more efficient at whatever Mother Nature's deems its goal to be. Perhaps the goal is worldwide population reduction.
Sometimes it seems like that's Trump's goal too.
