New cases at 2.9% in Sedgwick County. Clod can't make a case any longer just like Biden. The CDC has totally caved into his narrative that the virus is continuing and will spring up any time now because Biden needs the virus to continue to have power. However, the statistics show it to be dwindling more and more. The border is the only place where it seems to be spreading with new migrants having it in the camps.

I stand by my comments months ago.

I still want to compare total deaths before during and after this thing to see what the numbers are.

This thing is over. Nobody ever wanted to kill anyone, and they sure don't now. But it is OVER. The doctors are much better prepared to treat it, we know who is adversely affected by it and the recovered folks, combined with those that still don't know they had it (and there are a TON of those) and those vaccinated and it's OVER.

Almost 9% of the population has been confirmed to have the virus. Almost 18% have had at least 1 dose. Considering how contagious the virus is and the fact that a plurality of patients are either asymptomatic or so mild that they don't know they had it, AND given the rapid decline of cases (and it's NOT because of increased mask wearing) it's likely that at least another 5% have had it and don't know it.

Now if someone wants to back out the 2-14 people that have had it again, be my guest.

That's 32% that have some level of effective immunity. And that number is growing by more than a full percentage point every other day. By the end of this month that means we'll be nearing 45% AT LEAST with antibodies, potentially well over 50%.

We know who is high risk. If you are, take precautions. I will, for instance, until I get my vaccine, which with the ****ing idiot Gov and the even more moronic mayor of Wichita, that will probably be another 6 months, but let the few of us that need to be concerned fend for ourselves and let the rest of the country get back to business.

        IT IS OVER.
Not wanting to get into an argument about the politics, but the NYT has a a dashboard tracking numbers down to the gnats ass and it has been on their front page for most of the pandemic. One needn't look too hard.

With vaccine rollouts picking up steam and a high degree of uptake when accounting for the roughly 30% of the population who won't take it, you are right that this is now a mop up.

We still should take precautions in mop up operations. "One robin don't make a spring." Sending a bunch of dipshit kids out to Padre to come back and infect their boomer and older Gen X parents, for example, would be suboptimal. Let them go in June and infect each other with chlamydia.

It’s not uncommon to be a year behind on fatality statistics.

                • Gavin Newsome just said on the news that we were never going back to the normal that we knew before the pandemic. These Democrat leaders are really crazy. It might be necessary for people to take to the streets to fight against these tyrannical Democrat leaders.

I was wondering if it could actually come to that. I think maybe

                    • Former U.S. presidents (minus one) urge Americans to get vaccinated in new ad series

It’s been exactly a year since covid-19 was declared a pandemic. In the months since — in record time — three vaccines have been developed and approved for use in the United States.

Now, former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter are featured in a series of public service announcements, released Thursday, aimed at overcoming one of the next hurdles: convincing Americans to get their shots. Former president Donald Trump does not appear in them.
“This vaccine means hope,” Obama says in one of the ads. “It will protect you and those you love from this dangerous and deadly disease.”
Which one you ask? Of course it's the same despicable individual that kept his own vaccination secret for over 2 months while a significant portion of his followers were deciding not to take it. What an absolutely inconceivably malevolent human being.

                      • 25% of the public say they will not take the vaccine. With the new CDC guidelines that say not to travel, or see grandchildren even if you have been vaccinated, what is the reward to be vaccinated? There is none, and Governor's like Gavin Newsome have said that they won't be going back to normalcy even after the vaccines.

Newsome is an idiot, but I happened to come across this article (by Hannity) and it's somewhat misleading.

The Gov. was clearly referring to the ongoing Democratic card of race. There are huge inequalities in our Nation, (even California) and we're not going back to the racists days of yore (creative license applied). He was not saying that 3 masks and stay at home are the ways going forward, which is what the article (especially the headline) implied.

Again, doesn't change the fact that Newsome is a moron and that most of his policies are massive failures and completely misguided. What's disappointing is his stance can be attacked on it's basis, and you don't need to bend the glass to distort what he said. But that's today's media.

Maybe he should have announced on Twitter. Oh wait......

A great number of people, including you, wanted him to go away. He did.

Hannity misleading? Knock me over with a feather.

Well done Doc. Your unpluggedness allowed you to noticed that before opening your jaws wide and gulping it down whole. Shockm is still completely entombed in a state of higher-brain function darkness.

                                For sure!

I want my year back. Others want their loved ones back. Trump is directly responsible for at least 6 mos. of pandemic-related hyper-abnormality-of-life and hundreds of thousands of lost lives.

He didn't go away, not by a long shot. He's merely banned from popular social media sites because he's literally dangerous and has the judgement of a toddler - off Ritalin.

Yeah, that's why he didn't announce it even though he's made numerous public announcements since, using traditional PR channels.
