If they win the state title then......

1)Garrett is FAR better than I think he is. And I think he is pretty damned good already.

2)Missouri basketball isn't very deep this year.

I hope he carries his team all the way....I just have a hard time convincing myself that ANYONE could be that good.
Having watched that game on TV I can say that his team mates are learning play around him pretty effectixely. I have not seen a box score, but I do recall the announcers saying NKC had five players in double figures.

Not saying NKC can win the State championship, but when yor team is the sixth seed in their own tournament and win it for the first time in8 or 9 years, they must be pretty good.

There were other teams in that tourney with D1 recruits (Steve Moore heading to Mizzou) so it wasn't a bunch of patsies they were playing.

Joco, thanks for the update and assistance. When I saw Garrett play the rest of his team really didn't understand the game and I was disappointed in their ball handling ability which was the only thing that he really needed them to do. The team they lost to didn't really impress me, but I haven't watched a ton of high school basketball of late so my barometer could certainly be skewed.

I plan to make at least one more trip to KC to watch him play.

    • I once had a skewed barometer. It's no picnic, I can tell you.

      • Stutz scores 23 points and pulls down 15 rebounds as NKC goes to 10-4 on the season wins thier 7th in a row. Keep winning NKC, I wouldn't mind watching Garrett play in the missouri state championship game on foxsports here in a month or so. :good:

        • Chipola beat Tallahassee tonight in O.T. 89-84.

Hannah and Flowers each had 17 point by my count.

            • Some posters on this board mentioned Murry as the best player in the houston area. That says a lot! :D

              • As we build for the future by the recruits we bring in, I think of the Big Dance last year. Guard play was huge. Defense last year by teams such as SIU, UCLA, and Florida impressed me as never before. Most of the better teams also had key big men followed by more key big men off the bench.

The year before when we beat Seton Hall and Tennessee we were 7-8 deep in solid players. Matt, Bonds, SO, Wilson, Paul Miller, PJ, RM. Who am I forgetting?

As I see the foundation forming with existing players along with the new, it looks very impressive on paper. HCGM is an awesome recruiter and he is not done with this exisitng recruiting class! WOW!!!!!!!

                        • Remember the last few years when our HS recruits put up less than stellar numbers and the conventional wisdom was either they play on a bad teams, they were injured, or they're a "diamond in the rough"?

Ya, I'm glad we don't have to swallow that spin anymore.

They were 1-3 after their first 4 games if I recall. So, that should make them 11-1 over their last 12 (12-4 overall)

                              • FSF finds myself coming "back to the well" of future recruits listed here, even after a win. HCGM mentioned there is more recruiting going on and we may bring in another recruit or 2 next year. Even with EO, are we now "even" at this juncture with ships?
