It was around the 10:45 mark IIRC. Don't know how to link so will leave that so the more technically inclined. But in any case, when I heard that, it sounded familiar. Anyone know who the story is about?
    Supposedly Mick Cronin from Cincinnati.

If the player was Tyler Ulis (as the story implied to me at least), then the coach would probably be either Fran McCaffery at Iowa or Tom Izzo at Michigan State. McCaffery was on Ulis a long time, Izzo not so long, but Izzo got him at the last minute from McCaffery and Calipari turned around and took him from MSU. So I really discounted Ulis as the player. Besides with McCafferys temper (and size), he probably would have decked Calipari for what was reportedly said.

Has to be sooner than that, Royal, so they can start practice in October with the rest of the team. I'm guessing it's the day before their version of midnight madness.

I debated whether to include a smiley. I guess I should have. I was only implying that it's Kentucky, so the NCAA will ask them for the date, and they'll choose whatever would allow the player to participate in the first game. ;)

So you're saying it's kind of like looking at KU's record to determine how many losses a team can have and still be in the Top 10?

            • Not quite, Shockda -- with The Flagship, it's not just the pollsters, but also the tournament selection committee, as in: How many losses can a team have and still be seeded as a regional #1 (or, if absolutely necessary, #2)?

                • As fun as all the speculation is. Do we know anymore on isaac humphries? Has he officially declared. If not do we know the date when he has too? If he is going to play this year. If he can't reclassify doesn't that mean we go back add the number one option with uk looking to refill their roster with more one and dones

                  • I will start this post with a shout to the young lady in the picture above, Hayley Minogue, who is killing it on television in Hazard on WYMT. Hayley started here on KSR a few years back as one of our college writers and like a number of similar students over the years, has turned […]

Paraphrasing, they say he is a go for Kentucky if the academic stuff happens, they should find out in about two weeks.

That was written almost two weeks ago. I might be reading to much in to the "if" but I imagine if he doesn't reclassify there will be some more recruiting battles for him.

                    • As Calipari has said before -- you can recruit him all you want but if we want him we get him. Arrogance anyone?

Along with a heavy dose of douchebaggery.

                          • Just saw an item by Eamonn Brennan of ESPN about what Kentucky's roster will look like this coming season (http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebaske...ne-at-kentucky), and unless I somehow overlooked it, there was nary a word about Isaac Humphries. This a week after a writer from NBCSports described Humphries's decision to reclassify and play for Kentucky this season in the past tense, as something already accomplished; time to move on.

So what does this tell us? Simply that no one knows and that even speculation is a little premature. We'll find out soon enough; no reason to worry in the meantime.

                              • I still have hope. And if he indeed doesn't play for Kentucky in the 15-16 season, then I won't expect him to make up his mind for another looooooooooong while.
