Speculating as some are predicting that JT, Gal, Wendell, and Graham, do not come back, then what in the blazes does GM do? Recruit for four more positions? Or hold one or two back.

If not, there are only two senior positions (Clemente and Gris) that will be available after next year, and no positions available for the following year.

I think a lot will depend on the quality of commits HCGM believes he can reel in.

For the sake of argument, let's ASSUME, that he is able to find 4 additional players that he wants to bring this year and let's ASSUME EO arrives and Mantas has a full recovery from his injury. That means 4 are gone.

If this does happen, I would expect that we will see two players redshirt next year as you don't really need 13 guys for the games. 9-10 guys will get the bulk of the PT. HCGM has talked about the possibility of redshirting Aaron Ellis if things work out.

HCGM has pretty much said he will sign two more players this year. His dilemma in whether or not to sign an additional one or two players should not be based so much on whether they are marginally better than the bottom of his returning roster, but on whether or not he feels they are comparable to what he may be able to attract during next year's early signing period. Based on the four we signed early this year, I would say whatever late signees we get should be comparable to what we have already signed or we should pass and look for better players next year.

Yeah, 72 makes a valid point. There may indeed be merit in asking Wendell to come back as the 4th guard or the 5th guard. In either case, he'd give you effort. I don't see Gal being a happy camper going back to being 3rd or 4th guard.

Honestly Gal probably wouldn't be a happy camper if he was #2 either.

Coach Grant was on the coaches show tonight, had a good thought on Durley and his upside. Said he thinks Durley is the best or one of the best PFs in the MVC! Sounds like he Will be back next year. HCGM is out recruiting. Looking for a PG, Juco. or Freshman won't matter. Second is a swingman. Maybe a 5 with or without EO?

As it stands now without anyone being gone, Wendall would be a 6th or 7th guard if you count Hatch in the bunch. Hannah, Kyles, Murry, AJ, Gal, Preadom, and Hatch.

Personally, I don't the Coach intends to 'suffer' through another season like this one has been. Fact is, when you have a job to do, such as putting the best team on the floor as you can, you do the job first, and try to be as nice about it as you can along the way, but you fulfill your primary goal FIRST.

Completely agree. GM has shown he can recruit. Seriously doubt if he would be willing to take mediocre players just for the sake of filling up the roster. Based on his success in recruiting a fine looking incoming recruiting class, he should certainly be optimistic that he can do equally as well, if not better, for next year.

With coach looking for a couple more pg's, it is apparent that the list that Snapshot9 provided will not be correct for next year. No way coach would carry 9 gaurds on a 13 man roster.

Which is essentially where he finds himself right now as walk-on Lance Harris has started at the #2 guard the last 3 games.

He may return, and he may not, but I don't think his being named to any list is going to influence the Coach's decision either way.
