I don't know the answer, but how about Mekel? He just got abused off the bounce today. Not good for his future, I have to think.

There is no doubt that I would like GM and JT back next year. Today, they both seemed out of sink. They are both young players that have promise. However, all Shockers better come in here next year knowing it will be a war to find playing time. If you are not 'plugged in' 100%, the world will pass you by as Shockers here next Season. That clicked with RC and he has "bought in" and is paying extra dues in time and effort to give his all. The results are very obvious and impressive. Why wait?Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

RDR,
Clemente and Ellis will definitely be back.
Griskenas should be back. He will work hard with Ramon to get back in shape, plus shooting and defending drills to make him stronger and bring back some of the aggressiveness I saw when I watched him at Three Rivers.
I am assuming at this point that will be all. I am sure glad he is recruiting a couple more JUCO's, because they will be the only thing that can save a decent season next year. He is bringing in scorers, winners, people who want to fight for a win. He will not accept people that do not have the hunger.
Case in point. Ramon gets chewed out more for a missed block out than his technical fouls. Coach wants that energy to be contagious.
I think we will have 2 JUCO 4/5's, 2 JUCO 1/2's, plus a JUCO 3. With 3 returning and 4 signed right now, that is 7 plust the JUCO's would be 12. Plus Orupke.
Any of the JUCO's will be subtracted for HS players that fit his system (Beckham/Miles etc.)

The meltdown continues.
Originally posted by Ricky Del RioI will not be unhappy, if we have 13 new, scholarship players next year.
Yes, I said 13.
I hope we start 5 freshmen.

I would love to see WSU win the Valley tourney, for many reasons. One of these reasons would be to see the posts of the WSU fans who have given up on this team. We are in the "one loss and your season is over" situation now and WSU is still alive (in MBB) until we get that loss. Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

You may be right, especially with all the Juco recruits that have been popping up lately. Clemente just needs to keep working, he is getting better. Needs to improve offensive skills some. Ellis needs to be more aggressive and use his height with the long arms. He needs to get his shot going more, seen sparks, next year need some fire. Has nice jump shot with nice arc to it, high release, hard to block.
I would attach a 'depends' to Griskenas. Defense was okay, but saw him get beat out on the boards quite a bit. He was touted as somone that could score, and this is where he needs to prove it, IMO.
Too often, this year, and past years, we have been a 2 gun team, with only 2 guys scoring in a game. Teams learn pretty fast how to overcome that with defense. We have to have more 'makers', and we can not miss bunnies like we did this year so much.

Does meltdown = give up?
If so, put me down for both meltdown and give up.
My position is unequivocal.
The snapping point for me occurred in yesterday's game. Gal half assed dribble pentrated from right to left into the big middle of the paint. He jumped into the air with his back to the basket. He had no graceful way of unloading the ball. He finally pitched it to the wing.
Don't ask me why this incident caused me to raise the white flag. Maybe it is because I have seen this kind of stupid play far too many times this season.
Nevertheless, I look forward to next season with gusto.
Yes, I am still going to STL.

The question is: If JT continues to play like he has, would he be more of an asset or liability to next year's team as he was this year with the players we have coming in?
I think we are going to have much more 'middle' action with our new guards and AJ especially, which could create some nice assists to JT, and JT does finish nice, but that takes us back to his defense. Will JT's defense have to improve in the coach's mind for him to keep him or not?
