I think Zach has been in Wichita for awhile. Doing summer workouts and pickup ball.

I know he is not playinng AAU the rest of the summer and he might go to summer school from a tweet awhile back. It didn't dawn on me it could be at WSU or in Wichita.

Can he take summer classes at WSU when he still has his senior year of high school to complete? If he can, he will have to pay for any classes he takes since his scholarship won't take effect until 2014.

I took classes at Butler County between ny junior and senior season. I had to pay for them despite signing a FAA. NCAA could be different, and that was 17 years ago, so rules change.

I'm sure that Zach has to pay for them but if his school counselors and administrators have reviewed the course descriptions and the class equals an offering that they give, he would be given dual credit.

Brown in town — Future Shocker Zach Brown is taking classes and working with the men’s basketball team this month. He won’t officially be a Shocker until he signs a letter of intent in November.


Brown, a 6-foot-7 forward at South Kent (Conn.) School, is allowed to spend July with the Shockers because he graduated from prep school last spring. He will return to South Kent for the 2013-14 school year before joining WSU as a freshman for 2014-15 season. Because he has not signed a letter, WSU coaches are not allowed to comment on Brown.


Brown, from Houston, gave WSU an oral commitment in early May. He averaged around 13 points and seven rebound for South Kent.
