Gottlieb has written about how inaccurate the rankings are anyway.

He commented about that as soon as a big power like Duke, North Carolina sign a prospect their ranking immediately jumps up.

Remember Denzel Bowles? I think he was a a 3 star recruit and as soon as Turgeon gets him to Texas A and M, he becomes a 4 star.

Even before he signed with aTm there was talk about him climbing up the rankings list. He may have bumped up a little more because of aTm, but was sounding like a borderline Top 100 guy anyway when he was committed to WSU.

With the news that we are indeed still in the hunt for Richardson, good chance that was at least part of the reason for Marshall's trip to Oklahoma.

Those three fit the description of a young pg and wing that Marshall talked about. I think Brown could play the 3.

Not in that description and not at all for sure how interested the Shockers are is C/PF Brennan Cougill.

PS. I'm pretty sure there are a few others not yet on this board that are getting serious Shocker consideration.
Now that it appears we have a chance for Josh Richardson, I'll add him to this list of desirables. A 6-5 SF.

With such a heavy hit of our 3 bigs and Hatch this Season, and Kyles, Smith, Rags, Toure', and Stutz graduating next Season, we better have a banner recruiting performance this year and next. I have no inside track on how many more players we bring in for next Season, but hope it is around 2-3 more, but only if they are top notch players. But but but, if if if if.

Next Season, let's just say we are picked 4th to 6th in the Valley, preseason. If we had 2 or 3 key recruits that could really step up assist us as a certain special walk-on-redshirt player like Mr. Odum did the Trees, then we could surprse some folk? After all, we still have several Seniors that have had plenty of minutes returning?

One last thought. Losing 3 key bigs may leave us vulnerable? Stutz could very have his best Season we hope. Is EO going to be ready to step in yet? We are wishin and hopin. Carl Hall could be very solid in time. Then what? Is this enough? Much of what I see on our recruiting list is guards and small forwards. Will our bigs be shored up or actually vulnerable?

I'm not too worried FSF. We have a pretty good incoming class I think. Hall should start. Wessel and White will play. Cotton, I don't know enough about but sounds like he's legit.

                  PG - Rags, DWill?, Cotton
                  SG - Kyles, Murry, Wessel
                  SF - Smith, Murry, Wessel
                  PF - Hall, White
                  C - Stutz, Ehimen

We do have 5 SRs next year. So the class of '12 is HUGE. I think we'll add 1, maybe 2 more in the spring period. I find it hard to believe Hamilton will be back considering the suspension. I'd love for that one person to be someone like Josh Richardson. If that were the case, we could RS one of him or Wessel and maybe Cotton. But even with the lineups I listed above, I think we should definitely be a top 4 team and could definitely challenge for a title.

To be a top 4 team and possibly challenge for the title next Season, we really need a Grand Slam finish to our recruiting. Yes, we will have a nice regiment of Seniors. However, losing our 3 bigs will take a toll unless others step up in a huge way. Having a solid showing in the NIT could hopefully jump-start us for next Season. You have to wonder if we might not sign 2 more if not a romote possiblity for 3? Dunno but I hope they are the very best players we can possibly sign, no matter what position they play.

Well for us to sign 2-3 more players means we would have to have 2-3 defections and I only see 2 possibles in that area.

Soon, we should know the final pieces of our recruiting puzzle? 1-2-3 new players? I am struggling as to what we need the most. Another inside player sounds possible. I was thinking way back when, that next Season, we may have Kyles and Toure' both at starters at the 2 or 3 with Rags and DWill filling the PG slot. However, the emergence of Ben Smith and after watching Evan W. play, we may have the 2 and 3 positions covered. Maybe just signing the very best 1 or 2 recruits we can find is a possibility? Hmmmmmmm? Just thinking out loud.

Yea, I think we have the 1-2-3 spots covered with quality players. If we can get just one more 4/5 combo guy that has a scoring presence down low, but has some range outside the paint.

We already have a guy in Hall that is a low post monster and we don't have to worry about jacking up poor shots from the perimeter; and he can rebound.

White gives us a versatile 4 that seems to play smart and can rebound.

One more ready-to-play-now low post player would give us the edge I think we will need to get to the next level next year.

Today, we had Rags, Stutz, and Toure' all stepped up big. They all return nest Season along with Kyles, DWill, and Ben. I like the players coming in and just wonder if we still might sign 1-2 more? If so, get me 1 more solid big man and the very best player from there we can get.

                              Forevershockerfan,

I think I will wait till after spring signing period before I count on next year's roster.

I think there is a chance one person you mentioned in your post might not be back.
