To what extent, if any, will our N.I.T. success affect the recruit effort?

With all the rumors, ya gotta think any kid would wait to commit till he sees who his coach will be.

One thing to note, is that next Season, our players will be All Gregg Marshall recruits with Hatch and JT graduating. RDR brings up a thought provoking question. The extra media exposure is helpful because oodles of recruits watch these televised games too. When we win with ease versus a good Nebraska team and beat another ACC team on the road as we did earlier this Season, that raises eyebrows.

On the other hand, the TV commentators seem to dwell somewhat on the popularity of our Coach as being considered for most any prestigious coaching vacancy that is out there. Thus, it makes you wonder if our competitors use this logic to gain an advantage with recruits that have us high on their list. This all would seem to be a 'Catch 22' in that our Coach is solid enough to not only build our Program and improve it each year, but also he is being sought by even bigger Programs.

With that all said, RDR's question is scrambling my lil pea brain. Time will tell. I really like Coach Marshall and hope he stays for as long as he sees fit. In the meanwhile, no matter what happens, our Program will be fine. When Coach Turgeon left, it set us back some, but Coach Marshall did a great job of rebuilding another solid foundation here. No wonder so many of the Arkansas fans were longing for him to take that job. Even so, our Program is bigger than any one player, or any one coach. That is why Shocker basketball is my favorite team in all of sports and always will be.

We don't just need to think about next year with any additional recruits. We're going to lose quite a bit next year and we need to start preparing some for the future. I wouldn't mind seeing someone brought in who may even redshirt. Right now we're looking pretty good for next season I think.

Sub, we do indeed look pretty good for next Season. The question becomes, can we challenge for first place in the MVC. Better yet, unless we do every thing right all Season long, can we win the Lew for the first time? If not, if a recruit or two could be signed that would be a "impact player", or even a solid rotation player, then count me in. We will have some soild Seniors and the best supporting cast possible will be of essence with the loss of 4 key Seniors.

1st post, but I've been a Shocker fan for over 50 years.

In my opinion, just from reading between the lines of what Coach Marshall has said, I would not be surprised to see a Division 1 transfer who of course would sit out next year. I believe this would happen only if more than one position opens up. As previously discussed, I would also not be surprised to see someone who had previously committed to another school who's coach was fired, or whose coach may move on to take the place of a fired coach. Maybe Robert Goff???

I watched Guy Landry of Midland for 2 games Friday and Saturday. He is athletic and appears to be quick enough to defend quick guards as well as big enough to defend your normal 3 man. He could be a nice player although I would not expect him to be a star.

Now recruiting will be on the front burner. Incoming players can go on the Overseas trip now. Sounds like we will get another recruit or two for next Season. I still would like 1 more big and the best player we can find if we sign two.

If WSU is only looking at two swing players, mark me down as being VERY CONCERNED. As others have said, WSU needs another big man for next year.

WSU is do to replace 6 bigs from this year with 4 for next year.

Not following. Three bigs graduated and we brought two in. We are replacing five with four. Add in our walk-on and we have a fifth. Will be one or two more than anyone else.
