Howard was a "Ward of the State" and received aide through those channels. It had to do with the short-lived 5/8 rule in which a school could only award 5 new scholarships a season and 8 in two seasons. It had nothing to do with us being over the limit of 13.

No. He was simply a walk-on. Jamar didn't have the grades for an academic. It's the main reason he was passed over by bigger schools. He had both KU and KSU as well as others very interested, but it appeared he wasn't going to make the grades. He was what was considered a gray shirt. He paid for one semester I believe and then was able to be on scholarship. I think the rules have been tweaked since then to prevent that but I'm not sure.

Actually, branden, it will work. I don't believe Armstead will be on a basketball scholarship. That reduces the apparent 15 to 14. If Uwadiae doesn't arrive to be on scholarship, the aforementioned 14 is down to the magic 13, including Wessel, who will be on scholarship regardless of whether he redshirts. I just happen to think it would be to his advantage to do so.

Depends on whether you think that Sully said that because he knows that definitively or because he was assuming Armstead would be based on the fact that DI transfers almost always are.

Sully said along time ago that was what he assumed. Not sure he ever actually confirmed it.

Paul S, if I remember correctly, also hasn't discussed with any certainty the possibility that Armstead would be on a scholarship that doesn't count against the 13. Personally, that's my (non-insider) expectation.

This recruiting thing is getting complicated. This year, we are as many as two over or perhaps one under.

There are reports that we already have three guys lined up for the '13 class. We appear to have 3 or 4 'ships for that class as of right now. So it's possible we're basically done adding to '13.

It's hard to project too much without knowing what's going on with the current roster. We may not know that until classes begin in the fall though.

None for sure. Troidell Carter and Jacoby Green have said on Twitter their plans are to go to WSU after Jucos in Kansas. Green is a qualifier, we are not sure about Carter.

According to this chart we have 1 commit (Watson) and 6 offered. Not sure how accurate this information is but I think it is pretty consistent with what has been reported by @tropicalshox and others.
