Alex Freshous finsish 2nd in the pole vault, Ethan Pearson 6th and Tobias Boese in a tie for 8th for 11.5 points. I had them with 12 points in this event.

INS picked up 9.5 points and I only had them for 7 so the gained a little on us vs expectations.

OTOH I had SIU for 8 points and they did not score. So the Shocks are starting to look pretty solid in their battle with SIU for 2nd.

Good result in the 400M for the Shocks. Alez Reed 2nd, DJ Lindsay 5th and Mike Flores 6th for 15 points vs my expectatins of 10 points.

Indiana State with only 2 points vs expectations of 5 points. SIU picked up the 10 first place points as expected.

In the 800M run the Shocks picked up 9 points, but I was projecting 12 so that is a little bit of disappointment. Ryan Hocier was 3rd, Kelvin Busienei 7th and Jake Wike 8th.

INS and SIU had no runners in the finals.

SIU kills it in the men's discuss with 26 points to only 2 for the Shocks. Looks like a dogfight for 2nd in the works. Similar to what INS and the Shocks are looking at on the women's side for the championship.

As I had anticipated INS pulls away for a 30 point win. However, the Shocker's do hold on for 2nd place 168.5 to 161 over SIU.

                    Good job, Shocks.

Men's Most Valuable Athlete (most total points)
Tomas Cotter, Wichita State - 20 total points

                        Congratulations Tomas.

Tomas was unable to finish the 5K. I hope that wasn't due to any type of injury situation. He had a full plate winning the 1,500, the steeplechase and running in the 5K.
