A couple of thoughts:

Frankie and Huggie are from the east coast. Anyone who has spent any time in NY - NJ and So Florida probably realize that what is the "normal" lingo there isn't tolerated here in the midwest. That (pardon me) F-U attitude that exist in parts of the east coast gets under my skin in a matter of seconds. I think that is what you are seeing with FM.

I haven't necessarily heard Gene go off, but in Hawaii a couple of years ago, BK was in rare form, right up there with Frankie. I've also had conversations with JT that would make most people blush. The difference in our baseball staff and ksu's bball staff is our guys don't have the attitude that comes with the east coast profanity.

I was born in Wichita but I have lived for over ten years in New York City. I do not really care what this coach from K-State says or does – that is the University's business. However, I can say with a high degree of certainty that his actions have very little to do with the area of the country he is from. People with his type of "attitude" are not exclusively born nor do they exclusively reside on the East Coast. In short, you should not generalize this way. Do you think New Yorkers should believe all people from Wichita, Kansas live on a farm and are ignorant hicks?

I've read a few KSU fan comments that it's no big deal because several players look up to Martin as a father figure.

Maybe off the court he's a nice guy. But if anyone I respected called me that, there would be no more respect.

Using profanity as an adjective is one thing, but using it as a noun in reference to the player is beyond reprehensible.

Hate to be Frankie's real kids....."Daddy I spilled my glass of milk........ahh you stupid mother randall faulkner!!"

Maggie, no offense intended. There are alot of good people from the east coast. Maybe I should have put it like this. While the majority of NY and NJ may not have the FU attitude, most of the people with FU attitudes come from that area.

BTW, most people from NY / NJ do think we all live on farms !!! :whistle:

So every other thing lutz says is critical of WSU??? he is kisses gene's tail??? ok i think we can all agree that gene is awesome correct? so if bob writes something good about gene then he is kissing his tail???thats one of the more dumber things i have ever heard.. and im going guess i will get this reply "then why does he say everything negaitive about the basketball program?" well in the beginng of the year we wern't scoring he wrote about that so that means he is dissing the basketball program even though that was on everyone's mind and even a topic on here. Bob is not the greatest ever at writing sports columns but i have said once and i will say again "if your reading his articles then he is doing his job" thats why he has been around for all these years and im sure he will be writing until he retires i dont agree with everything but the guy is doing his job.

Ok thats one coach and i know some coaches to but its a figure of speech. I agree with one of the things that was said on here that in this day and age you will see a tone of cussing on tv and movies that are even pg at times but its part of this life and generation. Martin is young im sure in a while he will be a good coach but man he wont be marshall i love our new coach.

Shocker856, my point is (and obviously you didn't get it) that Gene & his staff have done the same things that Lutz is bashing the other coaches for. He's not holding them to the same standard.

IMO, Coaches, regardless of their success or college that they are associated with, need to be held to a higher standard. As I stated earlier, I don't like FM or Huggie Bear, but it's not because of their language.

I'm absolutley not bashing Gene or his staff...their record speaks for itself and I am a big-big-big WSU baseball fan. Lutz (and the rest of us) should kiss his\their (Gene, Brent, JT) collective tail. :wsu_posters:


I'm bashing Lutz. He is a biased hypocrite who writes bad things about people he doesn't like and doesn't do the same with people he does like. He reminds me of how CNN throws softball questions at Hillary.

I usaully read about two lines into his articles and if it's not totally hacking me off by then I'll go a little further.

I didn't ask any questions. I also didn't say he wasnt a nice guy. I spent about an hour with him at a high school activity. He is a very sarcastic person. It shows in his articles.

I probably read about 1 out of 10 of his articles.

I have my opinion and you have yours. Doesn't make either one of us right or wrong.

Ok, first off let me state that I am not a huge fan of the coaching style that Martin uses, but us WSU fans can't say much on this subject. This is the EXACT same style of coaching Gene, JT, and Brent have used for years. If you don't think so go sit right beside the dugout and listen to Brent...and don't bring your kids. The only difference in this situation is that KSU basketball gets a lot more air time than WSU baseball.
