Summer travels — Former Shocker basketball player Ehimen Orukpe is waiting on his first professional job, likely with a team in Spain or Italy this fall.
He prepared with a busy summer. He tried out with the Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors. In California, he helped the Nigerian national team prepare for a tournament and played pickup with NBA players such as James Harden and Andre Drummond.
“I gained more from just watching them work out more so than playing pickup,” Orukpe said. “They work out every day, even though they’re at that level. Drills, ball-handling, working with trainers.”

Just reminiscing about how EO used to do this to anyone who tried to go inside...

You knew he'd get a shot somewhere. It'll be interesting to see if his offense ever develops to a point where his D can carry him to a bigger stage.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking

"Grandson, I remember when this 8ft half monster/half gazelle they called EO played for us back in '12/'13 and single handedly took us to a Final Four his senior year. Nobody remembers that year because it was three seasons before FVV whose number is retired on that banner over there won us our first national championship his senior year. But I saw that 8ft-and-a-half aeroplane swatting beast of a man jump 14ft in the air and block a game winning shot at Indiana -- or was it Bradley? Louisville? Hell they're all the same after 40 years, but anyway he blocked the shot after nearly hitting his hand on the rafters and the ref called it defensive goal tending because no man had ever been seen jumping that high and stretching that far from the tip of the key. But the cassette tape showed the picture clearly, but well after the refs had left the game: The ball was on the way up. Yup. I saw it with my own two eyes when they rewound the tape. Got his autograph on that ball right over there too."Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

At the time it seemed so important. Little did I know, we needed the rpi hit so we could get set up for the easiest run to the final 4 in the history of mankind according to CU fans.
Just think, if EO gets that block, we might have been a 7 seed and we probably would have gotten owned by a powerhouse like the 2012-13 Duke squad. Thanks, EO :)
