The race is far from over. Northern Iowa still has Drake twice and they play Missouri State on the road. Drake is much improved and the way they hit free throws they can beat anybody in the Valley.

Bye-bye Butler for the Bracketbusters too. That may be the sadest thing of all, as it would've been fun to have that game on the schedule. I know, it wasn't really a given, but now it's about impossible.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it is dimmer after this game. We still have a tough game at SIU to play on the road before the UNI game and while SIU has struggled some this year, we all know we haven't had a lot of luck in that gym even in the best of seasons.

I looked at our remaining schedule, and it looks like we don't have any more day games, so we should be in pretty good shape.

I don't think anyone is saying we're terrible or we haven't improved majorly. The problem is, we have won enough games on the road to put us in a place to challenge for the MVC regular season title, but we are still a work in progress in many ways and so I think we're going to have let downs as a part of that process.

It's already been a better season than last year in every way you can imagine. Shocker fans have a taste and want more though. We're so close we can see it but it's still just an inch out of reach so far.
