  • Just hope Monk doesn't find his stroke from deep and that refs don't call ticky tack crap everytime they drive. Play our game and we have a shot. Miss a bunch of shots and let them get transition baskets then we could lose big.

Best way to ensure they don't get transition baskets? Make our shots...Limit our misses

    • I like the stat compairsons in this article. Both teams numbers are very similar, if you take out rpi, and SOS.

        • SEC network reviewing the game today:
"Shox are very tough but the big stars like the big games and UK is full of big stars".
ex UK player Antoine Walker on the desk btw...
For some the glass is half full and for others half empty. My glass is out of ice.

          • Shaq has got to stay out of foul trouble, and ZB has to slow down Fox. If those happen, I'll go:

            • Dear Kentucky One & Done$,

I'm here to offer you my advice, grati$. This game mean$ very little on the timeline of your collective live$ (I apologize for the spelling problem, my fingers have a hard time locating the correct "S" key on my IBM Selectric). You will be "graduating" on to the next pha$e of your careers $hortly. It won't be long until you hear your name called at the NBA draft. Just think of the fame and material wealth that await$ you. You'll be rock star$, have acce$s to the best night club$, hang with celebrities (c'mon now, A$hely Judd and Drake, SMH). You've put in a lot of hard work toward your career$ at Kentucky over the past 4 ...... months, don't let that go down the drain. Let's "get real" (as the kids like to say), what has the University of Kentucky done for you? Use your image to make money? Damn right. You need to think about yourselves, after all you're Millenials. So watch where you land when coming down for a rebound, a twisted ankle could be co$tly come June. Remember, you have family members depending on you. Do you recall that Christian McAffrey youngster, the football player at Stanford, now there was one $mart kid. Bowl games, who watches those anymore. All I'm $aying is, you gotta' protect the box, know what I mean, $ure you do.

              Signed,
              B. Madoff
              #6012289

P.S. My friends call me Bernie, you can to. After you $trike it rich, give me a call, I can help you plan your financial future$ (in a few years), grati$ of course.

              • After opening at +2 and jumping almost immediately to +4.5, the late money is coming in on the Shockers' side as the line has crept back to +3.5.

Late money is smart money-- those are the Vegas sharks putting bets in on Wichita.

How do ya'll feel about Willis' comments? Personally, I really wish he didn't say anything at all.... It's the top story on ESPN right now, which sucks.

OR, it could play well for the Shockers? David not afraid to talk sh!t on Goliath?

                  • There are my predictions for today's game:

                    - Channeling the great "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Coach Cal will go up to Landry Shamet's mom, pull out a roll of hundreds, peel them off one by one and hand them to her until Landry "mysteriously" develops a calf injury and can't play today.
                    - The TV feed of the entire game will be one continuous shot of Ashley Judd. She will pick her nose with 10:35 left in the first half.
                    - Chris Jans will take the Oklahoma State job and leave the building just before halftime.
                    - Coming out of the under 8-minute timeout in the second half, the radio feed will catch Mike Kennedy yelling at the Kentucky fans behind him, "GO DIG UP ADOLPH RUPP AND PUT HIM ON TRUMP'S CABINET, YOU @#$%@#$ers!!!"
                    - Decreeing that they can't make their new commercial irrelevant this early in the tournament, Coca-Cola will notify the NCAA of their desires for the game result to preserve the possibility of a UK-KU national semifinal. Dan Janssen will then walk up and kick Rashard Kelly in the side of the knee.
                    - Shaquille Morris will honor his namesake, Shaquille O'Neal, by going 0-24 from the free throw line.
                    - Wichita State will be refused entry into the building, "to preserve the integrity of Indiana basketball."
                    - Despite all of this, WSU wins 92-82.

Everybody remember to breathe, have a good brunch, have a mimosa or two, and remember that's it's just a game. A wonderful, maddening, glorious game. :)

I'm not impressed by it. All I can say is I really hope making those comments ends up translating into him having his hair on fire. Nobody wants to put themselves out there nationally and then get embarrassed. He better drop at least 12 and 6 in this game and his man better not have 20 pts. That's all I can say. Maybe this is how he motivates himself.

That being said, it will make for some great post game coverage if we put our money where our mouths apparently are.

Thinking about it ... if you're a JuCo guy, and you know you might have one shot to have your Joe Namath moment against Kentucky....

....yeah, I still wouldn't do it, but that's just me.

He needs to shut up. He is setting himself up if we should lose. Which is definitely possible. Take it to the court.

                            • Timeout are we really getting told WE are cocky? By Kentucky? The heck? I hope they enjoy their time on that high horse of theirs. The audacity... that anyone would suggest they can play basketball with Kentucky and they they aren't scared. What are we supposed to be saying? It's pretty clear who is actually cocky and it's NOT Darral. I read his comments agin and they are pretty tame. UK just getting sensitive about the kind of comments many players make in pressers. "We are ready. We won't be scared. Gonna play hard no matter who the opponent is. They are nothing special."

Let's talk about who is acting cocky...

                              Good grief.

Thanks for this. I would think most non-Shocker fans would give the Wildcats a small edge in this game. However, our inside game has improved as of late and we need to be tough as nails on the boards. Next, Shaq needs to stay out of foul trouble and play strong today. Yes, we have to establish our inside game which will be a challenge but if we have a solid outside shooting game today, we will be in a position to win this closely fought game. Loose balls? We need a group of EW mentality and go get them. Last but not least, Kentucky has 4 solid scorers that our D will be on like a cheap suit today. Our 4 guards could all be factors today on both sides of the court. Brown and MM will guard with their hair on fire and lead our D.

Their Coach will Not let these Wildcats think we will be an easy win, especially watching the 2nd half against N. Kentucky. Our Shocks will not be intimidated and will fight hard from start to finish. We all want a Memphis experience and this is a winnable but close, down to the wire opportunity to earn that trip. Besides, we need more prediction threads because Shocker Madness in March is an ultimate goal each Season.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
