It may not have ever been in doubt in your mind but it was certainly in doubt on the court when Loyola pulled to within 4 points and had the momentum

I just remember saying to myself at that time (pulling within 4) "we got ourselves a game.

But no doubt on a victory for me simply because...

1. It was an uptempo game and we've seen our weapons this year to keep up (especially against a Valley team). Check = comfortable.

2. Home game = comfortable.

3. Gregg Marshall = comfortable

I can see from your post total that you're new around here, Walker, so let me be the first to tell you: I don't care what they call the town, there's nothing Normal about the Jailbirds.

Meanwhile, back on topic, this game really highlighted that the Shocks need to tighten up some defensively. Their KenPom defensive rating keeps sliding, and it's not hard to see why.

Beating a 10-6 Valley team with a 140+ rpi does not get any brownie points with the Selection Committee. They might even look at the 12-point margin of victory at home and penalize the Shox for the game.

If the Shox were in a stronger conference, they might lose and show that they may not deserve an at large bid this year, but at least they'd have a chance to show that they did deserve a bid. They can't do that in the Valley.
