Things like "Loyola is having a really nice season" is just true rhetoric since Loyola has always been used to having 7-2 seasons. 2-8 would be really bad but 7-2 certainly isn't really good for Loyola standards.

Again, it's just nice to have statements like these picked apart, analyzed, and corrected in case anybody dare has any positive ideas. Bravo.
For God's sake, don't start this again. Please

      Loyola currently has 7 non-con D1 wins.
      They've won 7+ in 6 of the last 10.
      They've won 8+ in 5 of the last 10.

This non-con is literally an every other year type of thing for Loyola.

Despite the non-con "success", Loyola has finished .500 or better in conference play (Horizon/MVC) just 1 time in the last decade. Beating cupcakes in non-con, then losing in con, is just what they do. I'm thankful they are on the good side of their little every other year pattern (hey, its better than the alternative), but it is still completely valid to point out that this is, so far, very far from unusual for them.

No it's not. Not by you, anyway. Because, well . . . uhhhh . . . I guess you exceeded the MaximumValidPointsAllowedByASingleUser value.

Clearly the point of Play Angry's post was to complement Loyola actually winning games laid out in front of them so far. I'm not sure why it was necessary to point out RPIs on December 15th. Everybody knows their schedule is soft.

            And people call me nitpicky..

            ... No really, deuces.

Yes, but not as much as Northwestern against Chicago St. I'd expect more people to attend a Mulvane basketball game.

                • In just another sign that there are way too many schools claiming D-1 basketball status D-II Goldey-Beacom College (Wilmington, DE) is leading the MEAC's Coppin State (Baltimore, MD) 43-31.

According to Wikipedia Goldey-Beacom has more post-grad students (719) than under-grad students (633).

Coppin State has already lost to D-II Chestnut Hill College (Philadelphia, PA) this year. I will say Chestnut Hill has one cool looking campus. I guess it is listed on the Register of National Historic Places.

                    regedit this: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ShockerNet\Up dater\MaximumValidPointsAllowedByASingleUser=9999

may need to bump it up!

                    • Looks like a bit of a power outage at a couple AAC schools this week.

On Monday, UCF lost at home 49-58 to Pennsylvania of the Ivy League and then lost tonight at GW 59-74.

But that was an avalanche of scoring compared to East Carolina who lost at home tonight to Charleston 35-53.

East Carolina scored all of 13 points in the first half. Of course, 13 is 44% better than St. Louis.

Coming into tonight the MEAC is 12-104 in D-1 games this season with 6 winless teams, 5 one-win teams and 1 two-win team. Only North Carolina Central at 5-5 has won more than 2 games.

It probably is better to by a D-II team than to buy a MEAC game. The SWAC isn't much better at 12-74 vs D-1 competition.

                            • Coppin State did manage to comeback against Goldey-Beacom to win 89-83 in OT. G-B lead 78-75 and fouled a 3-point shooter with 2 seconds left in regulation. The CS player hit all 3 free throw to send the game into OT.

Wasn't Goldey-Beacom the mayoral ticket in Hill Valley circa 1985?
