I'm sure there is culpability all around, but on the surface, I'm most disapointed in the UNM Head Coach Craig Neal who in a released statement, showing forethought, said that his assistant did nothing wrong.

Yes, Coach, your assistant DID do something wrong. He was the adult and coach and should have diffused the situation or walked away instead of beating his chest. Right or wrong.

I'm not clearing the CSU kid of any guilt, and for all I know he completely started it. BUT, Terrance Rencher had the chance to change the course of the confrontation, if only by taking the 2 people next to him and getting on the bus, and he chose not to and instead furthered the confrontation.

I know it happens all the time in sports. I hope Coach Neal rethinks his assessment of his assistant's actions.
