No. he says he is only a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. I wondered why I hate the Cards. I don't really. Why would he converse on here?

Because he is the president of the North High Alums Conner Frankamp Fan Club (NHACKFC, for short).

      • "COLLEGE BB: Former Wildkat’s son plays for Wichita State" - Kokomo Tribune

        12/27/16

"Former Kokomo basketball great Brian Reaves’ son Austin plays for Missouri Valley Conference power Wichita State.

Austin Reaves is a 6-foot-5 freshman guard from Newark, Arkansas. He has played off the bench in 12 of a possible 13 games for the Shockers (10-3). He is averaging 5.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 13.4 minutes per game. He is shooting 50 percent (15 of 30) from 3-point range. The Shockers open MVC play Wednesday at Indiana State.

In high school, Austin Reaves helped Cedar Ridge win three Arkansas Class 3A state titles. As a senior, he was the tournament MVP after scoring 43.3 points per game over the four games.

Brian Reaves was a three-year starter at Kokomo. As a senior in the 1988-89 season, he led the Kats to a state runner-up finish. He was the team MVP. He averaged 10.3 points, 6.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game, topping the Kats in the latter two categories. He finished his Red and Blue career with 726 points and 528 assists. Brian Reaves went on to play at Arkansas State. He is tied for third on ASU’s career assists chart with 384.

His older son, Spencer, plays at Division-II school Central Missouri. He averages a team-high 18.6 points per game."

          • I wonder if older brother Spencer would be interested in walking on a preseason top 20 team for his senior season?

I believe that he would still have to sit out a year before being eligible. Similar to how zach brown had to sit out a year after signing with Washburn.

                • Really?

I have no idea honestly. But what if he's graduated already? You can move within D1 without sitting a year if that's the case.

And didn't Zach Bush (if that's who you meant) enroll there and transfer? I think that's a different rule, but again, just speculation.

                  • I remember Washburn not releasing zach bush. Therefore he couldn't play his first year here since he signed scholarship with Washburn and left so he redshirted at wsu.

I don't know if this is a good idea. Anecdotal information suggests Spencer may be the greatest threat to Austin's physical well being. Say uncle little brother.

                      • I have a feeling Spencer Reaves wouldn't be your average walk-on.

                        • New Year's Day 2017 - The best 129 seconds of the year (so far) for Austin Reaves:

The following details the brief but spectacular sequence of Austin Reaves in the second half against Bradley on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

The day turned a bit dark at the end of the 1st half when Austin attempted a very tough move. Moving in two directions at the same time. Ouch was the result and the Shocker crowd held their breath as the young fan favorite hobbled to the sidelines. Fortunately, the skinny, yet tough as nails, freshman was back out on the floor warming up for the 2nd half with no apparent ill effects from his 1st half mishap.

About a minute after Austin entered the game in the 2nd half lighting struck the Bradley Braves without warning:
15:06 Defensive Rebound - Austin Reaves
14:41 Bradley Shot Blocked - Austin Reaves
14:26 3 Point Shot Made - Austin Reaves
13:52 3 Point Shot Made - Austin Reaves
13:24 Charging Foul on D-LO - Austin Reaves
12:57 3 Point Shot Made - Austin Reaves

12:50 Bradley Head Coach Brian Wardle calls a time out and seems stunned as he took a circuitous stroll, head down, before addressing his team. When he reached his team's huddle he was overheard saying "You don't pull on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask of the ol' Lone Ranger and you don't mess around with Slim."

And to top it all with a big scoop of ice cream big brother Spencer was in the crowd watching the little brother he pushed and prodded to become the player he is for the 1st time in Austin's college career.

Perhaps it was just Austin's way of saying thanks Big Brother for all the help.

I'm ready for some mo' of this.

                          • I was really hoping Gregg would leave Austin in after he picked up his 4th foul. The game was already decided and I was ready for the heat check from Goudelock range.

I was hoping that when Austin re-entered that game with 4:43 remaining in the game that maybe they would try to get him one more basket. That would have made him the team's leading scoring and would have made him the 10th player to lead the team in scoring in a game this year. Not sure any of the players and coaches new that nor that it would have made any difference had they known it. In any case, Austin left the game a couple minutes later so walk-on Kaelen Malone could get a couple of minutes which actually seems fitting for Austin.

I any case that may very well still happen organically this year.

Yes zach bush I mis typed. I thought the rule was in place to protect D-2 schools from being feeder schools for D-1 programs. A D-1 school could load up on D-2 all Americans every year without a transfer rule.
