Also, I haven't seen any point guard instincts from LS. He plays like a three to me.
Doesn't have to "beat them out" to get on the floor. I put PG/SG for Landry and Austin. I'd put Austin at the PG and Shamet at the 2

Considering RN, and especially SM, can't stop fouling constantly, you don't have to "beat out" anyone out to play more minutes than either of those guys.

Also, Shamet is way too small to play the 3 in a traditional sense. He'd get mismatched constantly against most teams that aren't in the Valley.

      • I think the point was that we could, at times, see that tall lineup on the floor next season.

        • and while that is tall for the Valley, it ain't so big versus the top 20 teams

He could probably do it in a pinch if absolutely needed. Baker played some 4 against Ohio State late when Gregg wanted another ball handler on the floor.

Morris is foul prone, Nurger not so much (avg about 1 foul every 8 min). Midtgaard will get minutes, how many TBD.

To get back on topic I put the over/under on made 3s for Reaves at 2.5 and fouls at 3.5
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

This is a very realistic lineup next year ...
Use Reaves mostly as a PG and Shamet only as a SG and that would work.

I'd like to see some more of that too. He just sees the court so well. Yeah...probably a couple high risk passes that'll not go our way in the process of his freshman year...but he looks like a fast learner and won't make those mistakes again.

Wouldn't be surprised if Coach did this some more as the Valley season goes on. Young man has that "make other players look better" type aura.

Or how about 6-4 PF Evan Wessel?

                      • I love during the game last night, I think it was Shane Dennis who called AR "the Baby-Faced Assassin." So appropriate!

                        • Is it just me or does it look like the ball is deflated when Austin is dribbling? It just doesn't come up very high. He keeps the dribble low, which is excellent, but sometimes it looks too low as if he doesn't really have control. But, he does have control. What the heck am I talking about. Anyway. Sometimes the dribble looks awkward. But it works. Love me some AR.

Shhhh, NCAA is bad enough without getting Rog Goodell involved.

                            • I believe Reeves should start eating into a considerable amount of Frankcamps minutes. That isn't as much a knock on Frankcamp as it is a praise of Reaves. Frankcamp is decent, but Reaves has the chance to be a shocker legend. If it was up to me I would invest as much as I can into developing him. He should be the first guard off the bench behind Shamet and Smith imo.

                              • I believe Reaves should start eating a considerable amount of Frankamp's food. Seriously, get that kid some more calories.
