Also, correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't he also show us with a 1-0 record agains the 51-100 group? I'm not that smart, but that ain't correct. 3-1 is what we be!

That isn't a metric ranking. If he looks at that, he should go deeper and use adj. offense and adj. defense, etc. when you compare wins/losses, it becomes an opinion and not fact based.

Was anyone else watching the Patriot League championship on CBSSN last night? Our ol' buddy Gottlieb was being a company man and defending Palm against what Marshall said. Something about how Palm being ranked 61st means nothing, and a believe an exact quote was "You can get it right and still be wrong", whatever that's supposed to mean.

That's basically how Palm does his brackets too. Well they scheduled 20 Top 50 games but only won 4 ... RPI says they are 70, but that means nothing. Look at those 4 wins!!

This is extra funny since there is a historical, documented record of just how poorly Palm does exactly what he says he is trying to do. You would think he would have some sort of wrinkle. "I try to forecast the games that haven't yet been played"... or something like that. Instead, Palm flat out establishes that his goal is to predict the committee, and that leaves no doubt about how bad he is at his job.

Because with him it's all about RPI wins. It's as if he's never sat through the mock selection process they do with the media every year or two. If you can't predict how the committee will interpret the games they watch (gasp! watching the games!) or how they will use the other metrics to evaluate teams, you aren't a bracketologist. And if you got paid to be one, you need to give every penny back to the idiot(s) who hired you. (You=Palm)

I like this "we earned a 4 or 5 seed but will get a 7 seed" Well a 7 seed is leaps and bounds better than a 8 or 9 imo. Not having to play one of the top 4 teams in the second round is huge.

Right now there is 2 locks for a 1 seed and 5 in contention of getting the last 2 spots, according to linardi. That's 7 teams worthy of a number 1 seed. Facing a 2 seed instead of a 1 is not that big of a difference.
