I mean, I get what you're saying, but it gets really annoying to see Shocker fans on Twitter (mainly two or three people) who feel like they have to respond to anyone who merely tweets something remotely negative about us.
And I'm not saying that about you, but it really bugs me as someone who would like to shake the perception that's out there of our fan base.
Sort of like it gets annoying to listen to every person paid to talk about college basketball discount WSU because they have to play Drake twice?

I dunno I find it annoying when they talk about Clemson still being in the field after losing by 48, then turning around and saying WSU hasn't proven anything after winning by 41 against an RPI 50 opponent. Just a double standard thing that is annoying. And of course there is entitlement when every year you hear that you shouldn't be in the tourney or you are seeded too high, and then every year you win multiple games and outperform your seed (except 1 year)
It's one thing to give readers a healthy dose of reality like we only have one top 100 win, little room for error without winning the Valley tournament, etc. but he always finds a way to come off like tool, well, because he is a tool.
I have no problem calling out a-holes like him due to blatant hypocrisy. People like him will discount WSU because of a weak schedule but then proclaim that leaving the Valley would be a stupid idea. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Either back off the criticism that the schedule sucks...particularly the conference part of which WSU has no control...or start helping WSU find a better conference so that we can stopping having this same tired conversation every single flipping season.

I would understand his/your argument if it didn't occur for almost EVERY team; singling WSU out for it is like calling Shaq a "braggart" becauses he poses after a monster dunk; it becomes apparent that there is just a dislike for WSU.

That's fair. I'm talking about when the guy with 100 followers tweets something negative, then some random Shocker fan who has a "Wichita State" search saved responds and calls them out. Like, what does that prove/solve?

"No. 10 seeds: VCU, Clemson, California, Wichita State (Missouri Valley)
VCU (18-5): Pom/RPI: 46/30. vs. RPI top 25: 0-1. vs. RPI top 100: 7-3
Clemson (13-9): Pom/RPI: 38/44. vs. RPI top 25: 1-5. vs. RPI top 100: 8-8
California (17-6): Pom/RPI: 54/41. vs. RPI top 25: 0-4. vs. RPI top 100: 4-6 Wichita State (21-4): Pom/RPI: 17/53. vs. RPI top 25: 0-1. vs. RPI top 100: 1-4
Need to know: How much does one embarrassing loss matter to the committee? Clemson has a nice collection of nine Pom top 100 wins, which is more than any other team on the bubble. But the Tigers were absolutely demolished at Florida State this weekend, and it’s fair to ask this question: Does a team that lost a game by 48 points really deserve an at-large berth? It’s a question to ask after Selection Sunday. Speaking of lopsided games, Wichita State avenged an earlier loss by beating Illinois State by 41 points on Saturday. That’s easily the best win of the year for the Shockers, which is a problem. If they don’t win the Missouri Valley Tournament, they’ll present a dilemma for the committee. Their advanced metrics show they belong (Pom 17, Sagarin 18, KPI 34, RPI 53), but when you’re 1-4 vs. RPI top 100 teams and 19-0 vs. 100+, that’s not ideal."

"Wichita State (21–4, 11–1 MVC) exacted revenge on Illinois State (19–5, 11–1 MVC) last weekend, dominating the Redbirds, 86–45, to even the season series the race for first place in the MVC. Let’s assume that both teams win out, which seems a safer bet for the Shockers, but likely enough for both teams. If they then both move on to the MVC tournament championship, will the loser of that game be in good shape on Selection Sunday? That will depend heavily on what power conference bubble teams do the rest of the season, but neither of these teams makes an incredibly compelling at-large case. The Shockers are ranked 17th on kenpom.com and don’t have any bad losses, but their best nonconference win of the season was over Oklahoma, and the victory against Illinois State will go down as their only one against a top-50 RPI team. On top of that, they’re 57th in the RPI and—no matter what you think of the predictive power of the metric—it’s going to work against the Shockers. Illinois State, meanwhile, has to hope the committee will look past losses to Murray State, Tulsa and San Francisco. The Redbirds are 34th in the RPI, but just 2–2 against the top 100, without a win against a top-50 RPI team. Are either of those more compelling cases than Georgia Tech’s, built on the strength of wins over North Carolina, Notre Dame and Florida State? Or what about Clemson, which will likely be on the bubble with at least 10 top-100 wins? We believe this will be a one-bid league this season, no matter who wins the conference tournament."

Assumes WSU is 29-5 but still assumes the RPI will be 57. If the RPI is so important, then WSU would be a shoe-in with an RPI near 30 in his scenario.
The Jayhawks and Bears were among a half dozen Top 10 teams to fall over the weekend. But the two continue to join Villanova and undefeated Gonzaga as this bracket’s four top seeds.
