Doc and I had this same conversation. I asked where a 30-4 WSU team would be seeded. He said 6, so I said that he must really mean 7 or 8 since WSU's seed dropped a spot or two each of the last two years from where I thought it would be.

Our dream scenario, which I see coming, is we continue to get better, solidify our identity which is emerging and get hot when it matters. MARCH! Just find a way to get in and make the most of it.
We are building an identity. We have a tall defensive stopper in Brown. Connor is emerging as a dead eye shooter and scorer. Landry is getting better and also emerging as a scorer. McDuffie is all over the place and gives 100% in all facets. And he is talented. Shaq needs to keep playing angry. Those guys are the nucleus.
What can put us over the top is if Willis and Smith can contribute like they did earlier this year. Reaves and Nurger are wildcards. Nurger is solid, but I'm not sure what they can do outside the Valley. We'll see. But I can see the latter part of this season catching some fire right now and riding the wave. I think Nurger showed pretty well against some pretty big time competition last year. I'm more concerned about him against the smaller quicker lineups than I am against the big power centers that most P5 programs bring around. Illinois State was considered the MVC Conference champions on 86 Ballots and was a 12-Seed
WSU was in the Last Four-In and was on 55 Ballots and was an 11-seed.

Jerry Palm isn't even trying to hide the fact that he doesn't like WSU anymore.
I am currently getting more feedback on the Shockers than any other team. Their fans have built up a healthy sense of entitlement regarding tournament selection because of their recent run of success, but this year's team is different.Comment
