Their entire self-worth as a program is tied to conference affiliation and the accomplishments of others. It's hilarious. Especially when you read about how they still have too many "MVC-level players."

News flash: Gregg Marshall won 9 NCAA games in 4 years with an entire roster of MVC-level players. Individual teams make quality, not conference affiliation.
I was fairly entertained by the comment that a WSU v CU matchup would be a WSU superbowl. A superbowl for the team that's won 9 NCAA games in the past four consecutive tournaments - taking down the likes of Pitt, Gonzaga, Ohio State, Indiana, Kansas and Arizona; Not a superbowl for the program that hasn't beat a team of substance in the tourney since Florida in 2002, and who's program has quite literally never won two consecutive games in the tourney?

    • Which teams are under more pressure. A P-5 team that just needs to avoid an major disasters in the non-conference and win about half of their conference games or teams like Wichita State and Illinois State who have a very difficult challenge in scheduling and have absolutely no margin for error if their non-con schedules don't pan out as hoped for.

Going through an 18-game conference schedule at 17-1 when any loss other than to each other would be looked at as a resume killing disaster when in most cases you're getting the opponents best shot is tough in any conference. Yeah, the Valley is full of mediocre teams but I am not sure it is full of terrible teams. Most of them are good enough to bite you if you let your guard down.

I'm pretty sure they are talking about getting the 2-seed in the Big East Tournament.

I treat every NCAA game as a Super Bowl.

Not that I trust everything he says, but I think Mark Adams tweeted that WSU has one more road win since 2011 than Duke has PLAYED road games in the same period.

Yes, WSU has an insane road record in that time, but still. It's a good example of the bias built into the P5 system.

With them, it's all about the conference and the name. (Speaking of which, Mr. "Higgins," it's pretty bold of you to come on here and take your chances -- many of us are not exactly your biggest fans. As long as you're here, though, could you please tell Janssen to quit buying the UNI flop? Some of the dives he calls as charges on UNI opponents are worthy of European soccer players.)

                  • Since we're talking about seeding and Harry Palm, here's my biggest kvetch regards him. He has us out, but Rhode Island in.

Yes, Rhode Island did beat VCU on Sunday, but they have at least 2 head scratching losses to some really poor teams. Teams like Fordham and LaSalle, among others. I don't care how weak the valley is, if we had lost one more game, we would clearly be out, so why are they in with those horrible losses?

Harry Palm is a big jack-off for CBS (pun intended).

                    • Just checked Lunardi's bracket and he has us in the Midwest as a #8, playing Michigan State. I would LOVE that matchup. I think we win that game 9 out of 10. We're much better than we were when we faced them in Atlantis.

It would also set up a potential round 2 match against KWho.

Since 2011, WSU is 69-14 in road games. Duke has played 68 total road games during that same time.

                        32 of WSU's 83 opponents were top 100
                        49 of Duke's 68 opponents were top 100

Pretty sure that isn't going to be possible. Non-Conference regular season rematches are usually avoided in the first round..

Plus I highly doubt they're going to put us in Tulsa with KU as the 1 seed. It'd be entirely unfair to them for the 8 seed to be closer to home than they are. That'd be like putting Gonzaga in Salt Lake and having Utah or BYU as the 8/9 seed.

I'm predicting a 7 or 10 seed in Indy. Most likely in the East region.

Lunardi knows we love imagining that KU match-up and it gets him pub, so he constantly does it. It is not happening this year.

One thing you're forgetting: They're KU. The committee isn't going to let that kind of stuff happen to a "blue blood".

We got 100% shafted that year and everyone who follows basketball knows it.

Oh I get it. I was playing along with you. I knew that was your point. They were teaching us a little lesson in the big boy sand box in 2014.
