I'm still not over it, yes I'm just a fan. :)
I still find it mind boggling that this team was outscored by 21 points once they were up 16. My only hope is that this so pisses them off, they steamroll their way to another Final four. I really hope they zero in in the MVC tourney. Get the seniors another net.

Cox went on the blitz and I could not watch the game.
The Shockers lost.
I flopped a straight. I went all in on the flop. Opponent #1 flopped a higher straight. Opponent #2 flopped a set and hit a full house on the turn.
It was an ill evening.
I have a recording, but after seeing the stats, I am not eager to watch it.
I do not think I have ever heard Coach Marshall be more dejected than he was on the post game show. He took the loss very hard."Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

This thought goes against many who believe refs should 'call a foul, a foul,' but after the refs reviewed the shot clock issue, you would have thought they'd have realized they screwed up the call, and therefore, would have given every benefit of the doubt to the Shox on the ensuing inbounds play with 1 second to go. But, guess not.

Granted, it was bad luck, but Shaq simply cannot foul in that situation.
While I'm on board with the fact that the officials were bad last night (I've said all along I think 95% of MVC officials are in over their heads), they certainly aren't the reason we lost this game. I get the OOB call, should have been our ball. All we had to do was defend the in bound pass and we had a shot clock violation. Instead Shaq commits a stupid foul and we never recovered.
Even the best of teams have bad games, bad halves. We had a bad half last night. It's over and done with. Are we on the bubble? Hell frikkin no. Now, if we lose another conference game or two, then we might be. I think it's a moot point though, I don't see us losing another MVC game this season, and that includes the tourney.
Last comment, I like Mark Adams as a commentator, but he has to be smoking something. Was he serious with his Final Four? Bold doesn't even describe it. I could see 1 of those teams getting there, but not all 4. Well, ok, maybe 2. Us and Villanova

How must it feel to review a play and see that you so obviously made the wrong call initially and are not allowed to correct your mistake.

We played a really poor game last night. Haven't looked at the stats, but here's what stood out in my mind:
FVV, RB and CF all had very poor games. We had no outside game in the second half.
Grady is nowhere near the player Shaq has become. It was obvious in the second half. I would have accepted the risk of Shaq fouling out. Not only that, he will never learn to play in foul trouble if he isn't forced to.
On another note, did Shaq piss HCGM off or was the coaching staff asleep? I say this because subbing Shaq in with 12.5 seconds to go was waaaayyyy too late. He should have been in for at least the last 2 or 3 minutes. He was our only inside threat all night and it really showed in the second half.
I'd say there are ample reasons to go around as to why we lost this game. Subpar game from the players and the head-scratching substitution pattern from the coaching staff.
All in all we had a very bad night. I hope that this is an outlier, but we'd better get our outside shooting back on track and get the zone figured out. I'm sure we will see a steady diett of it until we get it solved.

Bad, bad game
What bothered me the most was the poor display of a zone offense.
You attack the zone with ball movement and constant player cuts. There was little, if any, of either the entire 2nd half.
There was a lot of dribbling though, which makes a zone more effective. Actually there was a lot of standing and dribbling, which makes any zone look like an impenetrable wall.
Not sure what RB was thinking last night, but he just didn't look like he was with it.
Shaq continues to show progress, but he is still susceptible to the occasional dumb decision. His foul on the in bounds with 1 second on the SC was epic.
Watching Muller get the best of HCGM was disturbing. That should never happen, under any circumstances.
That is all.Above all, make the right call.
