How many regular season champs will be in the NIT? I don't think it will take up half (16) the spots, but it will be close. Anyone think that the NCAA might alter that rule a bit in the future? We can't do anything that overly benefits the non-P5 schools.

I believe there was a time when the regular season champs and the conference tournament champs got automatic bids. But it seems that ther regular season champs would always lose in their tournament and the conference would get an extra entrance into the dance. That was taking up too many spots from lower conferences. So they changed the rule. Doubt ir they go back to that.

My dad delivers Pepsi to Koch Arena for his job and said Koch arena requested 7 more pallets of items (mixture of different types of soda, water, etc) in anticipation of possibily having to host an NIT game.

now obviously they can always use the product and send it to baseball/softball concessions if needed.
