I'd say going 7-3 in the Big 12 vs SEC challenge is one way, but of course there's plenty more evidence than just that.

OU went 12-0 in the non con having dominated Wisconsin, crushed Villanova on a neutral site, won at LSU, and won at Hawaii (who is now 23-4).
KU went 12-1 in the non-con having beaten 2 top 100 teams on neutral courts, 2 top 50 teams at home, 1 top 50 team on the road, and only loss was a neutral game to Michigan State.

OU and KU mixed in some non-con cupcakes that hurt their SOS. Who cares? They were both dominant in the non-con. In Big 12 play, they have lost 7 times to the other 8 teams. That seems like some pretty good evidence to me that there are some pretty good teams throughout the league.

Most of the criticism I hear about the Big 12 just seems to be very weak on substance. To imply that Kansas didn't prove anything in the non con because their SOS was 113 is to totally fail to look beyond the surface. Same with OU and their non con SOS of 141.

That has to be a mistake. Last year's Colorado team was awful (15-17, 7-11 on Selection Sunday) and was relegated to CBI, so they could not have been on any bracket projections. The Colorado team that might have been screwed was the 2011 team, but that team had such a bad non-conf SoS, which is probably what hurt them.

When someone uses lack of top 100 wins to justify their argument, but doesn't even know how many top 100 wins WSU has (especially when WSU has 4x as many top 100 wins as they claim), I don't take them very seriously.

Well this is interesting... Lunardi and ESPN has WSU as a lock yet Hairy Palm and this toolbag says they need to win the Valley tourney or will be in the NIT.

Literally EVERY other team mentioned in the article was 20+ in KenPom; some were 64+!!! We, at 8, were laughingly included in "NIT bound" phrase if we don't win the conference tourney. What a joke.

I've always wondered about that -- so I guess in this case Jerry is actually a Spanish name, like Jose. Maybe if Donald Trump ends up president, Palm will have to prove his immigration status or go away and leave us alone.

Edit: It's a little disappointing that our buddy Henry failed to check his top 100 facts before quoting someone who clearly hadn't done so, especially considering how extensively WSU's top 100 wins have been covered on here by JH4P.

Regardless, it's a safe bet that the selectors will know the real story when they go to work, and that they also probably won't worry about having their thinking clouded by newfangled, fancy-schmancy metrics like KenPom. It's also likely that Eamonn Brennan at ESPN has a clue, and that it's one reason why he made WSU a tournament lock.
