Fair enough on the free throws, Whitehead killed us down the stretch. I credit Williard on keeping him on the bench when things got close. They played great team ball. Whitehead's issue was he was trying to compete with Baker 1 on 1, when Baker drained a shot Whitehead would go down to the other end and attempt to get one back and most of them were stupid shots.

People need to keep it real here and I'm sure the committee will too at the end of the year. Win this and we would have been ranked, that's respect and knowing our injury situation. This was a tough three game stretch and we won two and lost in OT on the road to a tough good SetonHall team who will be ranked next week. We take care of the ball and cut down on the fouls we win by 10. Need to regroup and take care of business. Hopefully SetonHall has a good year, and look at what Utah did to Duke. Believe me we still have a lot to play for.

The Shocks take a blow to the chin today. Sometimes, I find myself blaming a Shocker loss on the refs. Yes, today they were unpredictable and inconsistent, but we fouled way too much. Next, it would be easy to blame the Coaches, but our turnovers were not under 10 which is what I wanted but maybe over 20. 3G did not commit even 1 of those turnovers. Then I could blame FVV and Baker but they do way too much positive things to help us win so many games so I won't go there. Seton Hall did play really well today and they are young but were tough-minded and played very physical. This was an overtime game that was up for grabs up to the bloody end and the Pirates executed slightly better when it mattered the most. There, it was all their fault? That is what it was? We are so used to winning so many close games the last several Seasons. This Season, adversity has struck but were are not down and we are not out.
Here is what gives us hope. Great to see Grady get back out there and he needs time to get it back together and he will do just that. Frankamp showed some great flashes but he passed up a 3 I was begging for Him to shoot. Even so, He will really help us. MM is so impressive and the more I see him hoop, the better I like him.
What does all of this mean? Dunno because I never made one thin dime coaching. However, look for the Shocks to start another winning streak that might just knock our socks off because almost all of our reinforcements are back but now we have to regroup and get everybody geared up and on the same page. We will do just that. This is where Coach Marshall glitters and he will step up to this challenge as will our entire squad. You'll see, and we will dig it.Last edited by forevershockerfan; December 19, 2015, 04:04 PM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Dismissing our at large chances is very premature, and some national outlets have already done so (including USA Today). Utah win looks really good...hoping they have a great rest of the year.
We still have two months to play. Lots of time to make a statement. But this one doesn't help. Frustrating loss. Fwiw I don't see us losing much in the Valley and see us winning STL."In God we trust, all others must bring data." - W. Edwards Deming

I think the next 5 games are a big gut check for these guys now. This season could go a couple of ways.

I look at this as a learning experience for coach. I said continuing to stick with Wessel when our offense starts to fade is a mistake. When our offense starts to fade, Wessel needs to be on the bench.
It would be best for the entire team. Wessel is an pffensive liability and didn't produce near enough intangibles to counter his minuses today.
This has been rather obvious since Orlando.

Officiating was terrible and we played a bad second half. Just two examples of terrible calls
in the second half that should have resulted in a win in regulation. First, Fred's 4th foul came
on a drive where he beat his man and was going to score. The SH player was not in front of
Fred at all, was moving, and flopped. We lose two points there and Fred gets his fourth foul.
The other that I thought was really bad was when CF had a much bigger player well boxed
out and their guy jumped over CF's back and a foul was called on CF for what I thought was
a very good and basic block out. Again, we lose another two points as CF should have been
shooting two FT's. I thought those two calls cost us the game.
