I don't expect him to come in and light the world on fire. Just give us 10-15 minutes of strong, athletic defense. I expect him to use his athleticism and BBIQ to get to the rim on occasion.

Ron was 210 lbs. and battle tested for one entire year. Landry is a true Freshman. Conner is a better guard than Dmetrick and Ron is the starter. Maybe they will decide to use up his medical RS and play Landry because they think that they need his 5-10 minutes or maybe the coaches will decide that Landry is not needed to enough to use up his RS year.
Not to nitpick...ok, to nitpick lol, but Baker didn't start any of the 3 games in St. Louis. He did start every game in the tourney.
Pretty sure those are the only 3 games he hasn't started in his career at WSU.

If anything, Shamet gives us lineup flexibility. Someone else entioned it earlier, but he may affect the minutes in the post more than anything. He allows Ron to play the 3 some (similar to Conner), which gives us more options on what to do at the 4.You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....
.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

i'm not sure how effective he will be though when/if he comes back. rust/chemistry/fitness/stamina issues after sitting out so long. the ron baker thing was kind of rare and as somebody else mentioned, he had already redshirted?

If Landry comes back from injury this season and we make a run to the final 4 again, I am going to be real tempted to go Tonya Harding on a freshman guards foot every season.....Marge: The plant called and said that if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.
Homer: WOOHOO! Four day weekend.

Gregg wanted this kid on his team when he was a Junior in highschool. He's been waiting to get Landry in the roster for 2 years, he will play if he's healthy, and he will get minutes.
Landry is on the level of Fred VanVleet in terms of leadership/dedication/intelligence, he will take people's minutes if he's healthy.
