I agree, he spent the whole warm-up period doing dribbling drills and rebounding. You could tell he was itching to start shooting around.

Nothing's changed with Shamet. Timetable was always for mid-February return. Redshirt-or-not decision still pending.

      • If Landry was the 6'10" answer to our inside game I would hope like hell he would play again this year. He's not. Considering his total lack of conditioning and lack of available minutes at the 1,2 and 3 I am hoping we can get 4 full seasons from him. Ultimately it will be his decision and I will respect whatever that is.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

        • As much as I would like to see him give us a boost this year, we NEED him healthy next year more.

          • If there is ANY chance he gives us a better chance to win a NC this year, there is nothing more important than that other than HIS health. You can never count on next year. Now whether or not HCGM decides he gives us that better chance or not is yet to be determined.

It sounds like you listened to the Coaches Show...

              And I agree.

I actually didn't listen to the coaches show. Was it a good one? Or did it just sound like I was quoting something that was said?

You pretty much summarized exactly what Marshall stated about the situation. He said he's not worried about it and won't be until Landry is actually cleared to play. He added the pros and cons to both and that nothing should be taken for granted (aka a legitimate shot at a NC), and that Landry could be an asset to that. He also stated that he wants to see Shamet have the most prolific 4 year career possible.

You did pretty well. Sounds like you have some Marshall traits. That's good to have.

                  • Gaining more in game experience this year with Ron and Fred has value too.

There are no guarantees that Landry will be using all his eligibility.

I have faith that if Landry leaves early, Marshall will find a replacement.

                        • If I'm Landry Shamet I want to be active on the roster that makes the dance and a postseason run. I'm one of the best freshman on the roster and will likely play some minutes in big, memorable games even if there aren't that many minutes. I don't want to hang out in the bench and watch Fred and Ron win a national championship if I am able to contribute. Let next season be next season. This season has a lot of potential. That kid is gonna play, and soon.

                          • Big decision ahead for Landry, and Coach said Landry along with his mother and the doctors will decide whats best. Marshall said he would love to have him for four years, but also the chance to make a run and him being able to contribute is something they will decide when the time comes. Marshall said he wasn't going to worry about it till he is cleared to play, then they will decide, alot of factors, along with what the situation is with the team will no doubt be a factor. You know he's itching to play, and of course we as fans are anxious to see him play. Tough decision.

‏@Shamet_Landry11 Today's day three of court work for me and I just feel so much happier and so much better. THREE days. Lol. Crazy.

Third day back on the court for Landry. You'd have to think the timetable for his possible return would be 2-3 weeks out.

                              • Jacob Albracht from KWCH was doing Sports Daily in Bruce's place on Thursday. Landry was briefly brought up and Albracht made it sound like it was a foregone conclusion that Landry would be returning in February and contributing big minutes. He made it clear that he is thinking that way because of what he has heard from people inside the program. I don't know who his contacts are but he made it pretty clear that he trusted them and he fully expected Landry to be playing soon.

I wouldn't recognize Albracht if I saw him on the street and I couldn't tell you if he was a competent reporter or a Kunkel level reporter so I have no idea if he can be trusted. I thought he did an alright job on Sports Daily, or at least as good as anyone can hope to do with Paul Savage as a co-host.
