  • I didn't watch the Kittens play Texas tonight, but I did just see in a "highlight" their last possession (down 71-70) after the missed Texas FT gave them a chance to win with 13 seconds to go.

All I can say is, Wow. If you ever want to watch a video of a bad possession in which a team doesn't turn the ball over, find that one. No attempt at penetration by the guard or even any apparent look for it; no serious attempt by Johnson to make a quick move to get himself open underneath or for a lob; no attempt at cutting to the basket by anyone; Wade turning away from the basket on his "move" with the ball, thus ensuring that he'd be unable to do anything constructive -- what a fiasco. And yet Wade actually got himself a halfway respectable-looking and open shot for three, although either it was out of his range or he was out of gas, because it barely reached the rim.

NOT a good look at the end by our brethren from the Little Apple. Texas just about made me look silly twice in a row for complimenting them recently. At least it was a quality loss for K-State, though -- as it presumably would have been regardless of which team ended up winning.

    • K-State found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

      • And what the hell is wrong with George Niang hitting that dude in the junk? Seems to me that should be just like a punch and he should be suspended just as if he had punched the kid in the face.

How does it compare to the 2005 NIT WSU v. Vandy game?

LSU* @ Arkansas -3 Arkansas win would send LSU to 16-12 and possibly out of the discussion of bubble
Vanderbilt* @ Florida* -4.5 Florida win might kill Vandy's chance at a at large with a 8-7 SEC record as of today

Excellent choice of polar opposites, DU -- Vandy had about 1/13 as much time, and got a 100% better result. Every Man a Commodore!

                      • Going back mentally a few years (easy to do when you have as many to go back as I do), or even just looking at the geography now -- doesn't it seem just weird for Temple and Tulsa to be facing each other in a conference game?

Interesting you would root for another team on the bubble who could possibly take your spot just because you lost to them earlier this year.
