I think KU fans expect to win a title every year. No, not the Big 1 title, but a National Title. The fact that he's had some early outs has them itchy... now, he's also won a title, been to another title game so it's not like he hasn't 'won'. I don't get why he's sitting Bragg and Diallo... more to the point, I don't know why a 5* big man would go there right now, but they just landed another one. Self might be prepping himself to be offered the Spurs or Thunder gig... who knows. I actually like Self... that team is impossible to like.

No go on the Thunder as Billy The Kid took that job last summer (I was surprised how little run Self got for being a candidate for that job). Other than that, you aren't wrong on this commentary.

Does anyone who's watched Dialo or Bragg play really believe they're 5 star guys? Whatever 5 star even means. Not much in my book.

I think they were both overrated coming in, but who knows really. The thing that makes it easy to disagree with the "rankings" for me is that Diallo was a top 5 kid, and Bragg was around 20. On the floor, they look like the opposite. Bragg has "looked" the part much more than Diallo has from the little I've seen. (I have zero statistical data to support this, which is why I used "looked")

Guards can make bigs look really, really good. KU's guards are garbage, especially Mason. They won't get past round 32 again unless they land a great matchup and I think the fanbase knows that... feel bad for Perry. Dude would have been a LEGEND had he picked WSU, plus he would have actually seen a Final Four.
Dean Wade is also going to rue the day he went to play for Webber.

Self is fine. I've never have disliked him. I effing despised Roy Williams! Self can't figure out his recruiting. I think he is getting trapped in the 5* one and doners instead if the 5* Perry Ellis's. If the game is winning NC's, you need players who want to win a NC. That means buying into the team concept. Players who know they are there 1 year are already skipping class and eyeing their money. I don't think they are compatible with competing for a championship.

UK came close, but even they haven't cashed the prize, have they? If so, I don't remember.

Greene is just a class A douche and I've always thought that.

UK won in 2012 I believe .. I have no idea what type of team class makeup they had that year though. It was the year they had Anthony Davis.

I've yet to talk to a KU fan who wants Greene on the team. And that was before last night.

Lots of KU fans on Phog want him playing loads more minutes, even after last night.

The guys we have recruited since HCGM has been in charge couldn't be more different from how Greene appears to be. Winning has been great. But the best part has been how great our guys have represented our school. If they were mutually exclusive, I'd pick the latter every day of the week. Somehow, HCGM has been able to do both, which is why he's the best coach in the country.

Here's a quote from the letter, "I know. It’s crazy that a player would dunk a basketball and I understand this is something you don’t see that often, so it may have thrown you off. But I assure you, this is something that happens often at KU and other schools that play basketball." I don't think KU fans care too much about the dunking in the final seconds, Bill might care but I don't think the fans do. I don't know how many people read that blog, I hadn't heard of it before today, I saw it from one of my KU friends on Facebook.

I don't know why the letter is pointed at K-State. To the best of my knowledge they did not request an apology. This was Bill Self's decision.
