Here are the 9 biggest games this weekend in terms of impact on the Shockers poll rankings and NCAA seeding. Root for the teams in bold/underlined. I literally think 7 of these 9 games could result in WSU passing someone in the rankings if the result is in the Shocker's favor. Indiana will likely be the only team to pass WSU from behind. Yes, that means I believe it would be theoretically possible for WSU to be #15 this coming Monday if the weekend went perfectly.
#3 Villanova @ #11 Providence
The Shox aren't going to catch Villanova. Providence already suffered a horrible loss this week @ DePaul. A home loss here and Providence will drop like a rock and the Shox probably pass them on Monday.
#25 South Carolina @ #8 Texas A&M
Texas A&M already got beat down @ Vandy this week. 2 losses in the same week and A&M would plummet. South Carolina lost badly @ Georgia earlier this week, so they might fall out of the top 25 regardless of this outcome. I don't think the Shox can catch A&M this coming week, but a loss here and A&M's lead over the Shox would be tiny.
#10 Michigan State @ #31 Michigan
Michigan already got smoked at home this week by Indiana, so they will be lucky to get any top 25 votes next week regardless of this game's outcome. A Michigan upset of Michigan State here would be ideal. Once again, the Shox aren't catching MSU this week, but they could pull a lot closer.
#13 Iowa State @ Oklahoma St
Iowa State lost at home to West Virginia earlier this week. Here's another chance for a team ahead of WSU in the polls to have a disastrous week. If ISU loses, WSU should pass them on Monday.
#15 Baylor @ #14 West Virginia
Despite similar poll rankings, West Virginia entered the week with a much stronger resume than Baylor. Baylor already lost this week to Texas, and West Virginia already picked up an excellent road win at Iowa State. I'm OK with West Virginia shooting up if Baylor can get knocked down hard. Shox pass Baylor on Monday unless Baylor pulls off this road upset.
#28 Utah @ #16 Oregon
No explanation needed.
#18 Purdue @ #4 Maryland
The Shox aren't going to catch Maryland. This is Purdue's only game of the week. Seems like an obvious choice to me.
#35 Florida @ #20 Kentucky
Kentucky already lost earlier this week @Tennessee. Another loss here would be beautiful as next Monday's poll would be missing both Kentucky and Duke!
#22 Arizona @ Washington
Could we call this getting "Evansvilled" if Arizona losses this one? Washington is good enough to do it, and bad enough to help keep Arizona off the Shox heels.Last edited by Jamar Howard 4 President; February 5, 2016, 01:30 PM.

Nice! One more bump up the S-Curve for the Shox.
