Thanks Kai, two interesting links. Given the team roster HC3G has built and continues to build I am more confident than ever the Shockers are going to enjoy a long run of success.

      • MVC preview according to Matt Norlander. I think I pretty much agree with his top 4.

Also, even though we lost our best defender in Cotton, we still have enough good talent where his loss won't be a problem.
Yes, that's what he said. I read it quickly, for lingering too long on DG's twitter will cause one to break out in a rash and need medical attention. :-) He also said Cotton was the heart and soul of the team... well, kinda... Fred is the boss and will be until he graduates.

And then he will move on and be the boss somewhere else.

Former KU, Creighton player Nick Bahe gives Marshall, FVV and WSU a lot of love.

              • On to more positive news. This is a really positive interview with 3G on CBS: https://www.google.com/url?rct=j&sa=...QM4IKADpCsgjvQ

We've seen or heard several of the quotes before but I find his answer to last year's win over KU to be spot on.

Wasn't this guy the jackwagon who yelled at Elgin about the officiating during the 2012 game when the Shockers went into Omaha and handed Creighton its backside?

I think Marshall addresses the best defender issue pretty well in his interview with Jon Rothstein (http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...-wichita-state) in which he answers Rothstein by saying:

"I think we've got a couple of options. First I don't want to minimize the defensive efforts of Ron Baker and Fred Van Vleet -- they've been very good in their own right. Tekele got most of the accolades as a defensive stopper because he guards the best scorer on the other team, but he wasn't offensive minded as those other two guys. I think that Zach Brown is a tremendous defensive player with his size and his athleticism and Landry Shamet -- a freshman -- is going to be a good one. He has the athleticism and toughness and concentration to be a really good defender as well."

We may see more of Landry than even we have speculated here on SN.

I noticed that too. I think we will see him early and often.

No, top rated QB (favorite target Alex Gordon) went to KU for Bball for 2 years, to CU for last 2 and into broadcasting. Stand up guy.

                          • Perhaps a CF, LS, ZB 3-guard line-up coming off the bench? How bad would they destroy other team's benches?

I found this nugget from that game...and could swear it was Bahe.

Meanwhile, a former Creighton basketball player seated three seats down from Missouri Valley Commissioner Doug Elgin began yelling at Elgin during the game to get the officials off of Doug McDermott and keep one of the Valley's stars in the game. It was ugly.
