My bet, if GM doesn't go to Alabama, I bet they go after Steve Prohm at Murray State. He's an Alabama grad and has coached in the SEC as an assistant if I'm not mistaken. TN or AL, I'm betting, will go after him.

Here's info from another source:
Barnes' latest two-year contract extension, approved in August by UT's regents and obtained this week by the San Antonio Express-News through an open records request, includes a buyout clause that would enable the Longhorns to get out of the deal for less than a year's salary at any point before it expires.
Barnes, whose team is ranked 10th in the coaches' poll heading into his 17th season at UT, had his $2.55 million-per-year deal extended from 2017-19 in August. The extension, signed last month by Barnes and this month by UT's vice president for legal affairs, adjusts and extends the buyout dates in the previous version of his contract.
If Barnes is fired before April 2015, UT would owe him $1.75 million. That amount drops to $1.5 million before April 2016, to $1 million before April 2017, and to $500,000 before April 2018.

i guess i dont understand why this would be toughest decision of his career? Alabama has no recent history. He would be second fiddle to saban and it would be a complete rebuild. The money is the only attractive thing. A couple other jobs he has been linked to I think would have been tougher decisions. Now thats not saying he doesnt go. Maybe hes ready this time? Who knows. I would thank him for everything hes done and be excited about who we brought in because of the potential this program still would have

I'll be disappointed if in the end it comes down to money...and no not mad at Gregg since he should be compensated for his relative market value. The disappointment would lie with those who have the means to sweeten the WSU pot but for whatever reason choose not to do so. And we don't have to match the P5 dollar for dollar but rather just keep pace. I think we're going to find out how committed the heavy hitters are to maintaining big time basketball in the Air Capital.

The "heavy hitters" won't have to eat ramen, but they do have to weigh their investments against a range of options? Would Levelle Moton or Chris Jans do well with equal facilities and support?Wichita State, home of the All-Americans.

CLEVELAND – “PAY THE MAN,” scream fans on social media and message boards.
Wichita State athletic director Eric Sexton doesn’t need prompting. If the realization that basketball coach Gregg Marshall earned another raise is just hitting him now, the game is already lost. Wichita State thinks of its job of retaining Marshall in a world full of high-profile suitors in the same way Marshall thinks of recruiting: It never stops.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!
