The difference this year is that he doesn't have Baker and Van Vleet coming back. This was a team that struggled to score and they're losing two guys like that. He has to be wondering where the scoring will come from next year. He had a really good freshman class, but there are big shoes to fill. If he's thinking of making a move, this would be a much more opportune time than last year. The good news is that there are not a lot of appealing jobs open this year and two of those that were available have already been filled.

If you don't find any takers, may I recommend watching the baseball game tomorrow?

Not at all -- he has plenty of history reloading, and with guys like Shamet, Frankamp, McDuffie, and Shaq, plus an excellent juco player in Willis, just to name five(!), he shouldn't have reason for concern at all. He may not know specifically who will be doing it, but I seriously doubt that he's worried about scoring next season.

              • Could be, but maybe we should give him a break, Eric -- he's only a temp. Then again, maybe he's just here temporarily as in long enough to be obnoxious, and then off to his next trolling task.

                • Why are you guys so paranoid and worried about trolls? We have an established program, that can attract good to even great coaches...Mark Turgeon got in started and Gregg Marshall lit that **** on fire, law of averages, you can't keep one coach forever, we can only hope we have a coach k, few, boehem (minus the cheating)

                        Interesting hire.

Can't imagine Pitt fans thrilled about this. However, "Panthers athletic director Scott Barnes had reached out to several other candidates but was spurned, one source told ESPN."

Stallings is good, but had worn out his welcome.

                          Probably a win/win.

Are you just stupid? Gregg Marshalls don't come around every day. It's more than ok to not want to lose them. Try watching 11 years of Cohen Thompson Smithson and praying that Marshall is coming. Some places keep there coach until he retires.
