WSU VERSUS NOTRE DAME PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

It's finally time to play basketball again!!! This week has been a desert that I have wandered in agony to arrive at today's oasis. Will the Shocks fill my cup or will this game be as satisfying as a mirage? Either way this team has nourished my soul for another season by representing themselves, their team, and their university with prowess, poise, posterizing-dunkishness, pesky-defensiveness and perceptivity may they continue to do so in perpetuity.

I have a job interview this afternoon that I will be attending wearing my Shocker basketball t-shirt. Will this bold strategy pay off? If I didn't know my stuff inside and out I might be a bit nervous. Fortunately Tekele Cotton is my spirit animal, so I will show no fear or weakness. I will be incredibly defensive and impressively offensive (maybe I'll channel Tekele in a more productive manner). Either way I am cool as a cucumber and ready for tip-off.

This game has been analyzed and analyzed as well as any I have seen and each analysis seems to conclude: who the hell knows? Not myself. I do know one thing. Our guys will show up ready to play.

Sweet 16s are nice but Elite 8 has a better ring to it. I want another shot at Kentucky.

We all know ND is brilliant on offense. However, their defense is almost none existant.

WSU and HCGM are amazing at making teams uncomfortable. They are also very effeciant in their offensive game.

The Shockers also hold the advantage in rebounding on both ends of the court. It's hard to imagine them also not having the advantage in hustle points.

Barring ND shooting completely lights out (which is always possible), the Shox have a very good chance at advancing.

They do a couple things that concern me. They take care of the ball very well. They have a drive and dish guy or two (seems to give WSU fits at times). In addition they got 1 "big" that is good at the pick and roll. Since they aren't huge perhaps that won't hurt as much if we can keep then from going over the top.

I think as long as we make 38-40% 3pt shots and shoot around 45% for the game we will win. Plus hold them to mid 40's shooting.

How this game is called will dictate a lot also. Of they let it be more physical it will favor us IMHO.

This one is too close to call. I will of course go with the Shox though

I hate living in Nebraska. No one is pumped for the game and they have no idea March madness is happening. All they care about is their mediocre football team.

I care. I'm wearing my shocker gear today and my office is decorated in wsu. But I agree it isn't as exciting as being in Kansas. But know a few of us in NE are Shocker Proud today.

I think all the attention we've received may be bad karma, I like us being the underdog (and overlooked) rather than the center of attention. I never, not in a million years, would have imagined all the attention we have received this week. The University can't put a price on all the positive articles about how our athletes and coach represent the program.

I think we will win a close, close game and play WVU or Kentucky.
