Yeah, this game scares me. I think the Irish match up with us pretty well and it boils down to who brings their A+ game. I like our experience on the court and coach and believe that's the difference maker tonight.

Three things have me concerned. One, ND has had a couple C games in a row. Two, we are
favored with a lot of the prognosticators picking us, and three, ND played Duke, NC and other
very good teams so well. Tough, tough match for BOTH teams. We will need OUR A game.

You can pick up an "Evan Almighty Wessel" Burger from the B.S. Sandwich Press Food Truck on your way home for the game this afternoon. The truck will be set up at The Field House on 17th Street north of the campus starting at 4:30 this afternoon. A black angus steak burger topped with cheddar cheese, bacon and spicy fried pickles.

However, the NCAA rules say they can't call it an Evan Almighty Wessel Burger so they are just calling it a #3 (Evan's Number).

Isn't the NCAA wonderful! First the IBA Watch Party and now the Evan Almighty Wessel Burger. Geez Louise!

Don't you expect that the "A" game will be needed every time a sweet 16 team steps on the floor? These are the last 16 teams standing, the only teams that can end their season with a win. (Other than the NIT and NCAAW teams.) I don't think you will see anything less from ND, and I would bet my wife's dogs on it that you will see a "AAA" effort from the Shockers.

More specifically the NIT, CBI, CIT, NCAAW, WNIT and the WBI in addition to the NCAAM. Hard to believe that Wichita State, Evansville and Loyola are the Valley teams still playing. Of course the CBI, CIT and WBI are not exactly high-level tournaments but they do give these teams a chance to keep playing and practicing.

There have been numerous reports about Mike Brey's mother passing, and they are touching and I'm sure I speak for most if not all of ShockerNation saying our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.

I haven't heard as much coverage about Fred's grandmother passing. He met the team in Cleveland after spending some time with his family. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the VanVleets.
