  • Not sure if this is a Game of Interest or Pinterest:

    Final: Loyola 78 - McKendrie 68

Hopefully, Loyola was playing McKendrie's Men's BB team and not their Co-ed Bass Fishing team.

Yes, I typed it correctly: Presentation College

One thing I can say about the rule that doesn't count non-D1 opponents against your RPI is that I am learning the names of many no doubt fine institutions of higher learning that I have never heard before.

I suppose the best thing about this is it gives some of these smaller schools a decent payday that helps them out financially.

That's still far superior to some of the degrees UNC has awarded over the last two decades.

I know that in real life, I can lick my finger, then stretch it out and make a sizzling sound to indicate the presence of absolute fire.

I don't know how to do that on the Net, but that post is so hot, it has flames dripping off my screen.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

For example; Greg Lansing has had the best four year run at ISUb since Royce Waltmans first four seasons in 97-98 to 00-01. Lansing has also taken his team to a post season tournament all four seasons. Waltman took his teams to two. before that you'd have to go back to 76-77 to 78-79 seasons for anything good to talk about. The budget at ISUb is nothing short of a kick to the grapes for Greg Lansing. So Lansing may be the best ISUb can do for what they're willing to pay.
Lansing is much better than ISUb can do for what they're willing to pay. He should be able to make more elsewhere.

Lansing I have no problem with. I don't think he'll ever be able to put together an at-large team, but if ISUb isn't willing to spend more, he's definitely the best they'll ever be able to do.

And Simmons might be the best Evansville can do with what they're willing to spend. Lusk might be, too, at MoSt. And who knows if Bradley can even afford to pay a new coach after the Kent State suit.

                • TCU 81 - WSU 54 (Wazzu taking it up the Wazoo -- how bad must they be)

Arizona State 49 - Bethune Cookman 39 (Simply scintillating stuff)

                  • DePaul 38, Drake 25 at the half.

I know it's against a short-handed Drake, but DePaul does look mildly improved.

                      • KU losing to UK won't be a bad loss, but they are taking one in the keester, down 26. They are about on par with Memphis. Sorta pathetic with all the 5 stars on their roster. My guess is we start hearing some grumbling about Bill Self by the end of the season.

What they could really use is a 6 foot guard with a little NCAA tournament experience that could run their point and shoot the rock.

Could you imagine what 3Gs would do with their roster?!?!

                          • Okay, so which euphemism do you think we'll hear from the ESPN pundits tomorrow to describe how KU isn't that bad off after that game?

I'll start with, "This is the kind of early-season loss that a team can really learn about themselves from."
If I had to pick three most likely to say/write it: ******* (given), Metcalf, or Vitale.

Watching the JayHawks last night against Kentucky, I thought Ted Owens had been reinstated as coach in KU land. I hold the opinion Bill Self is the best coach KU has had since I started following basketball but if he continues to morph into Owens then I will have to reconsider my opinion.
