Maybe they should just scrimmage against DePaul and get them out of the way, pie.

      No worse than 13th.

That is pretty insane consistency, and before you trolls try to claim I’m cherry picking my timeframe, KU finished top 5 in 2 of the 3 years immediate preceding my time frame.

What benefit of the doubt are you talking about?
I'm just happy you're doing okay. There have been a couple posts with an anti-bcs slant that went unchallenged, and I was afraid something bad might have happened to you. Good to see you're okay, and excellent take!

Doc, we all saw that when stupidity comes on this board and makes dumb comments about WSU, I am not needed. (see the dozens of pages of threads regarding Marshall to Mizzou)

Interestingly, dumb statements about BCS teams don't seem to generate a peep most of the time. That is where I come in. :yahoo:

Let's just speculate, Marymount (N), George Washington (N), Colorado (N), @Utah, @ Detroit, Alabama, Tulsa, St. Louis, Memphis (N)....not too much deadweight there. You kind of have to assume at least 2 of the 3 games left are going to be at home.

But, like the results, the schedule seems to always get better, even when we don't think it will.

I'll guess 1 cupcake at home (I hope it's not a SWAC or a non-counting D2) like a UNCC type team, one more home and home starting on the road (perhaps even a made for TV game on ESPN) and a (if I may steal a line from Craig Steven) "that'll make you stand up" game at Intrust (something like UCONN).
So ya think we'll trim the cupcake diet down to one buy game next year?

          That would make me happy.

Not exactly. We prefer to play cupcake games in January and February.

Good point- I meant the ones we buy, not the ones we're force-fed.

I don't think our regular season schedule impacts a date for a scrimmage. I believe you are allowed 2 exhibition games or 1 exhibition game and 1 scrimmage. Coach Marshall seems to like the latter because from coaching and team development standpoint a controlled scrimmage against a good D-1 opponent is so much more valuable then a 2nd exhibition game against an overmatched opponent.

I think you're forgetting how dumb your comments are all of the time.

It's amusing watching you get off on how confrontational you are and how smart you think you are.

If a second game at Intrust each year increases the overall $$ purse, it might be a necessity. Anybody have any information or even a guess on the actual dollars earned in addition to season tickets from past downtown games?
I've been saying something similar (perhaps more far reaching) for a long time. At what price are season ticket holders willing to pay our coach fair market value? I've had my tickets from the first days of MT and I could envision there will be a day where I could be priced out...And I'm ok with that reality if it means maintaining the current machine. It's the price many of us should be willing to pay for top line success.

                    • love how we disrespect our MVC peers...we used to be cupcakes not too long ago...so I think we should all appreciate where we were and where we are now...I understand the Valley is not on a Marshall team coached level...but we really shouldnt throw our Valley brethren under the bus so quickly...its fine if the outside world has their opinion...but for us to say it is kinda harsh...

heres the thing,,,,,,,WSU has been on a steady rise for the past 14 years,,,,,,we show that we are willing and able to spend the money to be elite******nobody else does;;;;;;;the Valley is pretty bad#####there are some good coaches in the league'''''''this is a reason whether or not they are long term.......most teams not willing to pay big for big results....ben jacobson has his issues as coach...........thats why nobody seemingly comes after him........its the world we live in.....

                          • I don't feel the need to weigh in on the disrespecting angle, but I really like the comment that "WSU has been on a steady rise for the past 14 years" for its own sake (with a hiccup the last year of MT and the first of GM). It puts the the current run in perspective.

Don't get me wrong about this. MT did very well by us except the manner in which he left, which I have put in the past, and I will always be thankful for him. But the last year of MT CAUSED the first year of GM.

And I have to believe losing Tad Boyle as his right-hand man wasn't helpful at the end of Mark's tenure either.
