The thought of WSU going undefeated and earning a #1 seed gives me goosebumps. I dont care what people are or will be saying, I will take it any day.

We'd get more pub in the 2013-14 regular season than all regular seasons combined in program history. We'd finish ranked #1. The fanbase would swell and donations would pour in. We would be the most attractive we have ever been to any potential conference suitors.

Some extra pressure? Sure. These kids and this coach showed last March that they handle pressure pretty well though.

I can tell you with 100% certainty whether Gregg Marshall would rather be 34-0 and a 1 seed in March vs. 32-2 and a 3 seed.

I can tell you with certainty that HCGM said talking about going undefeated is setting the team up for failure.

Those are Head Coach Gregg Marshall's words. Not mine. Those thoughts are not channeled from me. They are channeled from the coach, and if you bothered to listen to his post game comments on Cox last night you would know that. Put down the ecstacy laced kool-aid and try to enjoy the season one game at a time, as it is played. Like the coach and players plan to.

I could give you advice that you should probably pre-pay for a psychiatrist and anti-depressants, because I could speculate on the ShockerNet posters that will melt down in the event we lose a game or take an early exit in the tourney. They will cry and whine, and look for someone to blame (the players, the coaches, the media, the refs) for our our loss and/or early exit. You will have set yourself up for failure in addition to the team.

If you believe that anything less than an undefeated season constitutes failure or settling for failure, I would suggest you schedule those appointments and get those prescriptions now, not later.

It it actually happens, I will enjoy it - when it happens. As far as the publicity that goes with it, it will pale in comparison to the publicity that we would get IF/When we acquire some more banners and trophies for a deep run in the tourney. And even if we do go undefeated, there is a noticeable contingent of ShockerNet posters that will not enjoy the positive publicity, but seek out and obsess over the negative comments of the outliers (and it will come) that it doesn't mean as much because of our weak schedule.

I will take it one game at a time and listen to our coach.

You are a good poster more often than not, but are being an old, scared woman here. You also picked this fight for some weird reason and now can't take it when someone responds in kind. The things posted on an Internet message board do not effect our team's performance- I read HCGM's comments and they related to his own pre-game video speech, not ShockerNet posts. In direct response to what question, exactly? You attacked me for stating that I very much would like to see us go undefeated, then put words in HCGM's mouth by pretending he said that any talk, by anyone, at any time, of going undefeated sets the team up for failure. You then emphatically told me not to talk about it again. I missed the part where anyone asked you anything.

Leave the wet blanket act for fans of our competitors. This is a site for WSU fans. We don't need someone to rain on our parade whenever a fan shows enthusiasm or excitement about the greatness of this season's squad.
