And were undefeated. Maybe that should tell you something about the Big 12.

I went back and looked at KU's records and the best I could find was a 21 win start in 96-97 and I could find any other year where they had more than 21 wins together. (I didn't ever look over two seasons though)

Nope, according to their Media Guide on page 164. Their longest winning streak in one season is 22 games (96-97). If you look at page 200 the 96-97 started 22-0.

And I forgot to add in the original post.

We need to win the National Championship this year at 40-0 Next year at 40-0 and win the first 8 games of year 3 to reach UCLA's 88 game winning streak.

Just think. If we did that, I think we could move up to 3, maybe even 2 in the rankings.

That shows 21 wins and a loss in game 22 at Missouri.
Maybe they are counting an exhibition win?

                        • I am sure it is a D2 win you are missing since sports reference has always omitted those.

The difference is a Dec 30th game vs Washburn

                            • Another little fun fact: we have 10 regular season games left to top last years record of 30 wins. Who could have predicted we would ever have back to back 30 win seasons?
