    That's how.
I think you took my point backwards. I meant that it's extremely impressive that we're second only to Syracuse in that stat, not that it's impressive that Syracuse is up there.

Syracuse is up there because they play zone defense and recruit tons of length. They're designed to force 3's.

WSU forcing that high of a 3 pt % with (mostly) man defense is very impressive to me.

Oh, yep. I misread it. sorry. Still, it was impressive for me to see.

        • Ken Pomeroy's blog asks about players being labelled "winners".

"Allow me a moment to discuss one of my biggest pet peeves: labeling a player a “winner”. Because what happens when your winner starts losing. Isn’t he a “loser”? I mean if you’re fair, he’s a loser. Of course, nobody is so cruel to call an amateur sportsman a loser. That’s part of the reason why the winner label is just a lazy feel-good thing to explain something that has a less-mystical explanation. It all seems so arbitrary, too. Like, why isn’t Cleanthony Early called a winner? He’s won 52 of 61 games during his career, been to a Final Four, and was part of a team that beat Ohio State while the guy most-often labeled a winner shot 2-of-12 from the field."

          • 52 of 61 is 85%, a solid B in college. Someone who aspires to be at the top of his/her profession should make A's.
I am however, the exception. A solid C average with a General Studies degree has set a few sales records for failed companies.

I think the reason players are called "winners" is because they overachieve (versus their apparent athleticism) on good teams and don't wow you with scoring.

This was probably mentioned a long time ago, but I was catching up on old episodes of ESPNU's College Basketball Podcast, and Saint Louis' coach was on there. He was raving about Baker, calling him one of the best players in the country.
I was getting up caught this week too and heard that one as well. The exact quote from Jim Crews was that Baker was "the best player we've played against this year and probably the best we've played against in the last 2 or 3 years".

If you look at their schedule they've played Michigan State, Kansas, and many other ranked teams over that time. Pretty nice hat tip.

Very strong endorsement, especially considering that he plays along side FVV and Cle.

                  • Shocks made the starting 5 on GameDay. Something is seriously wrong with me because I'm struggling to watch when they talk about WSU.

Digger is calling for Cal to rebound and beat 'Zona tonight (I think he's been drinking).

                    • Digger is smoking his highlighter. Cal has lost three straight and just got beat at home by AZ St. Perhaps they'll rise up, I will be rooting for the Bears.

Involved Air Humping and cheerleaders and dance moves that were inappropriate, IMO, as he was representing ESPN at the time.

I was just standing about 5 feet away just kind of dumbfounded that he had a job.

                              • Somebody who writes headlines for ESPN likes us, or just likes openly trolling KU.

The headline for the story of KU being behind Texas right now is: "In State of Shock."
