There is no way to write a more negative article about WSU's success last year. It's sad when national media writes more positive articles about the Shox than the local sports editor.

I must be deaf in one eye and blind in the other because I just don't see that as a negative article. I read it the first time and then after reading the previous two posts I re read it. Someone is going to have to take me by the hand and explain the negative aspects of this article to me because it obviously escapes me. 10 minutes to the New Year. I just took that line to mean the bias that is shown to ku or any other prima donna program by the voting media that if ku keeps winning in the big11 they will steadily move up whereas with our valley schedule we don't have as much upward mobility. Of course we could BOTH be reading way too much into this article or even this perceived slight.

KU has been ranked in the top 10 of the AP poll 459 times...
WSU has been ranked in the top10 of the AP poll...how many times?

I don't think he's a liar for stating something that is generally known as true



I will say it, KU is a better basketball program than WSU. Maybe not at this moment or even this whole year, but look at the KU program as a whole and its clearly been a better basketball program and is as whole than WSU. It would take WSU quite a number of years to achieve anything close to KU status.

I agree. I am a dyed-in-the-wool Wichita State fanatic, have been for more than 45 years, but I'm also a huge college basketball fan and recognize excellence when I see it and the KU program is excellent. And now that Gregg Marshall has decided to make Wichita his home and place of employment, WSU is an excellent program as well.

I, for one, don't suffer from the inferiority complex many other Shocker fans exhibit and certainly don't harbor any ill will toward Lutz. I found his article to be a pretty fair read.

I don't think that is the point though. The question is why put the line in when you are writing an article about the top story in the year in sports being the final four run and a 13-0 start to 2013-14.

I actually liked the article in general and basically skimmed over the line but after others point it I agree it was not necessary. And I don't have an inferiority complex towards KU.
