Pretty easy to verbalize FVV's last name and have half the unwashed masses within earshot interpret the name as Van Fleet, and the other half hear Van Vleet.

        Seth Davis' Hoop Thoughts

-Interesting to hear Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall on ESPN's college basketball podcast talking about how he noticed all the empty seats while watching games hosted by power conference schools. Marshall said that when his team plays at home, the arena is always filled. That's why he hasn't left.

-Speaking of Wichita State, it's interesting to note that Ron Baker was a walk-on during his first year at the school. Now he's the leading scorer on a top 10 team. Don't you just love stories like that?

-Still speaking of Wichita State, remember the Shockers' "Play Angry" motto? Well, Memphis forward Shaq Goodwin plays happy, and it's a big reason why the Tigers were able to rebound from that blowout loss to Oklahoma State. Goodwin is a strong rebounder who can score around the rim, but the biggest assets he brings this team are his energy, intensity and demeanor. I spy a man crush.

Van is old dutch and means "of" or "from". Fleet is a brand of enema.

I'm guessing Fred doesn't want to be called: Fred From Enema, or Fred Of Enema.

            From ESPN:
Could Wichita State run the table? John Gasaway, in his Insider mid-major rankings, explains: "Instead of surprising you with an off-the-wall choice for the top spot, allow me to explain why tapping the only mid-major currently ranked in the AP Top 15 is absolutely essential. Wichita State has one of the best defenses in the nation, period. Every opponent except one this season has been held under a point per possession, and the exception to that rule, DePaul, trailed by 13 or more for the entire second half before losing by 18. [...] If Wichita State were to prevail at home against Tennessee this weekend and then win at Alabama next week, the moment will have officially arrived to start speculating about this team running the table in the regular season. Those odds would be long, no doubt, but with Creighton now safely tucked away in the Big East, the Shockers may have a shot."

Oh, great, someone just said "no hitter" in the 3rd inning.

I know this may sound odd, but in no way am I rooting for an undefeated regular season (unless I can be guaranteed an extra 9 game run). There will be pressure like non other if this team gets into February without a loss.

So many talking heads will crucify our schedule, league, etc... I wouldn't even mind a non-con loss, preferably not at home. I will take a loss or two. An undefeated season would be too much to bare and I don't see a good outcome during post-season play.

I'm rooting for an undefeated season this year and every year for the rest of eternity.

I was rooting myself on hoping to hook up with the prom queen, but it didn't work out. Unrealistic expectations I guess...for many reasons I might add (lol).

I agree that a naked undefeated season is just to much to bare/bear.

A physician called into a radio show and said:

So some of you prefer WSU to lose?

                          Got it.

                          ... No really, deuces.

I'm just excited about potentially getting to 10-0, which no Shocker team has done before.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.
