If we take care of business, I see us around 20 in the AP and Coaches and 15 in the above poll. Granted, a few spots here or there as we're only half way thru the week, not even really, but we'll still have a number next to us next week. Unless we continue our poor play in Frostbite Falls.
I think that your have it about right. If we win, we stay in the Top20 barely. If we lose, we will drop out.

    • #39 - La Salle lost at home to Massachusetts

Note: Last week La Salle beat Butler and VCU (at their place), then layed an egg tonight. See. It happens.

      • #35 - Baylor lost at home to Oklahoma

Note: This is good win for Oklahoma as they have a really strong RPI around #20, but have not been ranked this year. They get Kansas State this weekend at their place.

        • #17 - Missouri lost at LSU

Note: Missouri lost to a really crappy LSU team. Also, Missouri has not been playing very well, ever since their Coach was notified by the NCAA Committee On Infractions that their Coach would be required to appear before their committee for violations.

          • #36 - Iowa State lost at Oklahoma State

Note: They only have one good win our their resume, at home against Kansas State. They will ost likely be a bubble team come March.

            • #NR - Maryland lost at Florida State

Note: Even though Maryland was not ranked in the AP Poll, they were in quite a few of the brackets as like one of the last teams in the Big Dance. Looks like they just lost their invitation.

              • It's amazing how inconsistent college basketball is. Our loss last night, despite being at home by double digits, all of a sudden, doesn't seem that out-of-the-ordinary anymore. Right the ship against the Pasties and we'll be fine.

                • #29 - UCLA loses at home to USC

Note: LOL x3, USC is bad and I mean bad, RPI #130+ has 13 losses this year already. Fired their coach half way through the season this year. UCLA opened their newly renovated arena and the the Trojans just took a dump in it and all over it.

                  • #10 Oregon getting their asses handed to them by a pretty bad Stanford team 47-25. I'm telling you, no one is safe. Our 19-3 record is becoming even more impressive, especially considering the injury issues we still have.

                    • It seems that there are more losses in the top 25 this year than ever before. I can't remember ever seeing close to 15-20 ranked teams lose in a single week. There is alot more parity in college basketball and I think that the NCAA tourney might be one of the best ever this year. It will be nearly impossible to pick right with all the upsets that continue from week to week.

                      • #NR - Illinois lost at #13 - Michigan State

Note: Not unexpected, but Illinois did have a 10 point halftime lead. Also, Illinois has been a disaster the last month. They are 3 (wins) and 7 (losses) over the last few weeks, but what is so weird is that on the Bracket Project Matrix, they are still on 60 of the 61 brackets as a 10 Seed. Not even close to one of the last teams in the tournament. Next up are Wisconsin and Indiana, both at their place.

                        • Butler losing to Saint Louis at halftime.

SLU ripping Butler a new one with 4 minutes left. It's not even close.

All these upsets in the top 25 this year should make us feel a lot better about Tuesday night. It's not just us losing games we should win.

Exactly. I'm definitely not happy about the way we lost Tuesday night, because it was downright ugly and embarrassing, but everybody that is panicking over a 3rd loss in 22 games to a Top 40 RPI team needs to seriously start investing time in seeking possible medication.

                              • We have been here before. It seems like we take 2 steps foward, and the one step back is us falling off a cliff and its not. We have VERY high expectations, which is a good thing. But with those expectations come near perfection to accomplish.

I sometimes wish we could just fast forward to St Louis now, just to end the stress of trying to stay at such a high level. I know it's just basketball and in the end, it doesn't mean squat for me personally. But after watching damn near 40 years of WSU basketball, I cant remember being as excited about where this season ends up.
