Heck NO! These factors however, 1) which coach who stayed at ORU was recruiting what player, 2) if there was a new player he felt could help here, 3) Summit Conference is practically in the bottom third of all conferences, 4) the American is still in the top third and was in the top quarter. Mills hit lighting in a bottle with Abmas. I'm guessing the pickin's were slim to none.

I remember all the great Shockers, including Dave Stallworth. Just in case, as a bandwagon fan, you aren’t aware, he has a statue in front of the arena.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov

Go after Paul Mills as much as anyone wishes until he proves himself, but Marshall did prove himself, even if the last year or two, the best he could do was the NIT Final 4, and a Top 50 rating.Last edited by Shockm; January 19, 2024, 10:49 AM.

We are closer to UCLA than Fairmont College when it comes to basketball history. I remember BOBB said he went to Friends University. Otherwise, I don't know him, and when Friends was good, some of their people said they could compete with Wichita State. Not on their best days and WSU's worst days. There are a lot of people (including BOBB) who lack respect for Ggg, but he's as close as one can get to Ralph Miller.

Miller and Stallworth were well before my time, but I know their legends. Interestingly in today’s environment would Miller have made it through his results in the ‘50’s? Different world and different league back then and I don’t pretend to know the landscape, but a decade of mostly .500 ball. Definitely played the long game there.
Maybe we should have stuck with IB?

well, wsu is down among the very bottom in the country in ft%, turnovers, and team assists avg., probably below 300 in all of them, so they are equal oppurtunity.
oru is a basketball school. sean sutton did great there- they beat turgeon in wichita one year and at allen field house the very next year.
