The only positive about Mills getting one more season is that he gets to start over with a fresh batch of players. He's either going to get things back on track or prove that he's not the man for the job. All the pressure is on his ability to assemble and coach a team next year (without any IB holdovers).

Positive or negative. If he brings in a bunch of underclassman who can't play... Then they stay because no one wants them.. The New coach is stuck with either running players off or wasting a couple years with duds.

It’d be amazing. New coach can come in with a full roster to pick whoever he wants without worry? that’s what I would want. I’m just sick and tired of this. ADKS said we got rid of brown because the program wouldn’t have survived him basically? So under that logic gotta get rid of mills after this year, because next year will be a black hope compared to what he thought brown would’ve done.

There's no question about it at this point. There's no way that one more year of Brown would have been as bad as Mills' first year, and certainly not this second year.

I'm not really sure what Mills purportedly brought to the table that Brown didn't have. It's certainly not charisma. It's certainly not community involvement.

A new slew of assistants is the only thing that can salvage this situation given we're stuck with Mills for at least one more season.

I know of a possible assistant who has a ton of experience and isn't working right now. And he wouldn't need to move.

So, we are in a doom loop that has been created by this mafia that calls itself the NCAA, which apparently believes that the best way forward is to create a system that is little more than a perpetual free agent market. Thanks to that system, which is only going to get worse, withdrawn support shown through declining revenues, leaving the arena 2/3 empty, and general community apathy only perpetuates the problem further. Does going this route essentially doom the program altogether?

Unfortunately, this would seem to be a very plausible possibility. Turning this around in the current environment of college athletics and apathy and from the Shocker fan base will be super tough, if not impossible. ADKS inherited a very crappy situation in which he simply did not have the luxury to make any bad decisions especially related to MBB.

It's a sad state of affairs but it is what it is.
